Re: Floating flops

[ QUOTE ]
OP: BBV & welcome to sh limit.

[/ QUOTE ]

1) Serious question, whether you think it's worth any time or not.
2) BBV? Yes, I know what that means. No, I don't know why you said it....

Re: Floating flops

can you be a little more specific - like position, is this a HU match? What was pf? As a very general question it just sounds like they are playing bad.

HU? Define "tight" player. I think if it means what i think it does this is wrong.

In this case, a player with TAG stats who may be on a steal or making a position play...

Floating flops

I notice that some LAG/TAGs and LAGs like to call tight players with air on the flop HU, hoping to steal the pot later on if the TAG shows weakness. Is this ever a valid strategy? Do any of you ever...

Re: Can\'t fold here, right?

Raising the flop for value... I don't see the value in a raise. SB either has us beaten pretty badly or is drawing very slim (possibly dead if he is just taking a quick shot at the pot). Also, how...

Re: Can\'t fold here, right?

Calling the flop is fine... button should just go away most of the time, and we can snap off SB's possible bluff. I would fold to the flop raise though. Believe it or not, people:

A) are allowed...

Re: Berated for the way I played these 2 hands

Hand #1: c/c... use your relative position on the pre-flop raiser to your advantage. You don't want to pay more than a single small bet.

Hand #2: Possibly the worst flop call I have ever seen...

Re: Berated for my lack of handreading skills.

I am guessing that SB had the same hand as you and was pissed to see you betting and raising with button when he felt that button held a set. If he was the one berating you, tell him to fold his damn...

Re: 3-6 Short Handed

Turn: I really hate this check behind. Villain's flop play looks donkish, and it's quite likely that the king also improved his hand in some way or another (adding a gutshot to his weak pair,...

Re: Trips/top kicker vs. limp-reraiser

[ QUOTE ]
I am pretty sure who villain is and thus assuming that after 1500 hands with him you have the same reads that I have. Such reads would include notes of limp-reraising a lot of different...

Re: Donking into PFR...

[ QUOTE ]
If you have a medium strength hand, donking doesn't really make any sense because what happens is you get less money from weaker hands and more action from hands that are better or about...

Re: Donking into PFR...

I wonder if people would lead out more often if the term "donk bet" didn't exist.

Re: 3/6 Preflop Cold Cap with ATs

[ QUOTE ]
You can call or cap the flop, if SB is decently aggro then calling is probably best play.

Calling is terrible. You do realize that it's a double gutshot, right? Assuming...

Re: big bit pot with increasingly worse cards falling

Guru: I do not think it is a fold PF, even against a player as tight as myself. The BB discount should more than make up for the times you are dominated by AA/KK or hold the same hand as me. I'm not...

Re: big bit pot with increasingly worse cards falling

Pre-flop: I agree with Guru's call. There's not much value in the raise (if any) and we get the chance to see whether player 3 caps, which based on Guru's read, would be a very valuable piece of...

Re: first impressions

Dyson, I still don't get the flop C/R. It just seems like you need a solid read indicating that villain is either tight enough to fold underpairs or will 3-bet you PF with many weaker aces (at least...

Re: Trips/top kicker vs. limp-reraiser

Ok, results time... villain indeed had 55. I raise/called the river, and afterwards felt that this was a bad play. I do have enough respect for villain to expect him to realize I have at least a 9...

But over 1500 hands, I would hope that Ungaurded would pick up on the fact that this guy is wacky enough to LRR a hand like T9s or 55.

Trips/top kicker vs. limp-reraiser

Villain is 28/21/2.64 after 1500 hands. He tends to be over-aggro, and is quite tricky. UTG is a fish. Comments welcome on any street.

Re: JJ WA/WB vs Maniac

Against a 70/50 type of maniac, I would raise the flop for sure, and call down his likely 3-bet. Against this guy, calling down no matter what is the play. On the river, there are way more stupid...
