Calling the flop is fine... button should just go away most of the time, and we can snap off SB's possible bluff. I would fold to the flop raise though. Believe it or not, people:
A) are allowed to have an 8. B) are allowed to fastplay it on the flop. C) generally understand that this would be a terrible place to raise for a free card with T9. We are almost certainly up against at least a jack with a better kicker. Think about our equity after the flop raise and compare it to our pot odds. Then try not to vomit. |

If you call, is Button allowed to raise??? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, and we should thank him for it Edit: Not sure if your question was a response to my post, or if you are wondering whether button can re-raise the turn after Moss calls. If the latter, that is a very good question. |

hmmm button LIMPS, and raises both flop and turn, can re raise you, in a smallish pot, where u will no doubt have to call a river bet, dont think this is as easy as it seems.

Um, woulda prefer a flop raise and but as played, just fold to the flop raise from button...
Once you get the boat, you're seeing a showdown. |

[ QUOTE ] I would have raised flop bet for fun [/ QUOTE ] I figured I was usually behind a better jack atleast and I didn't want to risk getting repopped so I just called hoping that button would fold and that the turn brought a card to snap SB's kicker. Naturally I felt inclined to raise when I saw him lead out, but it just didn't seem right at the time. I dunno. [/ QUOTE ] I'm thinking either raise the flop or fold it. If you get repopped by either villain, just fold. Let them think you bluff sometimes. SK |

Raising the flop for value... I don't see the value in a raise. SB either has us beaten pretty badly or is drawing very slim (possibly dead if he is just taking a quick shot at the pot). Also, how does the rest of the hand play out after the raise (assuming button folds)? If SB's hand is really terrible, he may not even call the flop raise anyway. I would need a very interesting read on SB to consider raising... we basically have a bluff-catching/trapping hand imo. Why not just let him fire the rest of his stack at us without giving him the chance to realize things are completely hopeless when we are are ahead? Especially when there are so few hands button can hold that would cause him to give a damn whether we raise it or just call in this micro-pot.

If you call, is Button allowed to raise??? [/ QUOTE ] I think the standard regulations say that as long as the allin-raise is at least one half of the BB it qualifies as a raise, and can be reraised. In this hand, since the raise is 0.8BB, I would guess that moss could risk a reraise behind. |

I like everything especially the flop call. This is a good spot to be passive in.
