Can\'t fold here, right?
After having a good month at 3/6 and SSNL, I thought I'd give another go at my mortal enemy: 5/10 LHE.. -35bb in an hour.. Anything I can do differently in this hand?
Stupid [censored] nidlewhurst isn't working so [censored] it. No reads - 5/10 FTP I'm dealt J6o in the BB, button and SB both limp to me and I check to see the flop. J88 rainbow SB bets, I call, button raises and we both call turn brings another 8 (J888 with 2 spades on board now) SB donks, I call, button raises and SB reraises all-in with his last 8 bucks. So 1.8bb to call. Do it, right? |

Re: Can\'t fold here, right?
wtf we have a boat yah?
I would have raised flop bet for fun, barring some passive read. Turn play is fine and it's an easy call. I check/call the river. |

I would have raised flop bet for fun [/ QUOTE ] I figured I was usually behind a better jack atleast and I didn't want to risk getting repopped so I just called hoping that button would fold and that the turn brought a card to snap SB's kicker. Naturally I felt inclined to raise when I saw him lead out, but it just didn't seem right at the time. I dunno. |

Don't fold with the boat, now if you were behind a better J you just tied. I think I would raise the flop as well.

Re: Can\'t fold here, right?
Raising the flop is good. You are giving the sb way too much credit by thinking he has a better J. This will often be a smallish pocket pair or random sillyness. I don't think you can find a fold in this hand without very strong reads.

Re: Can\'t fold here, right?
I would ALWAYS raise this flop because if I get reraised it gives me a better sense of where I stand (depending on reads of course) and I can more easily get away from the hand if I am raised and reraised. Is this wrong thinking?
Call is a bloody must? Or isnt it? |

Re: Can\'t fold here, right?
Definite call.
Main reason? Players when getting down to their last few dollars, often just pick a hand, say the f*ck with it and raise till they're all in. Very common trend. Had your kicker played, it would be a fold. |
