Re: BG books for beginners
I think some of the advice is a bit dated, but Backgammon: The Cruelest Game was a really good read for me.

Re: 2-7 Single Draw NL
Is this still primarily a 2+2 tourney? I played a few times in it, and was looking to again, but I wasn't sure if it was open or still just for 2+2ers.

Re: Backgammon strategy software
This is a bit off topic, but I've heard rumblings from somewhere (I can't honestly recall where) that GNU Backgammon isn't as good as Snowie or Jellyfish, especially for evaluating and playing...

Re: Backgammon book?
Check out http://www.thegammonpress.com/ for a huge list of books. Also, judging by Robertie's track record in tournaments, I think you can depend on him for good advice.

1/2 LO8 - Missed Value Bet, or Got Lucky?
Hey guys, I've been trying to learn LO8 lately, and it's been somewhat rocky. This last hand I felt rather lost, but let me try and explain my reasoning... (Also, sorry for the pokerhand link, but...

Re: Bottom trips...worth capping? 1/2 LO8
I'm still a relative O8 beginner, but I would cap it on the flop for sure. You have trips and a backdoor draw to the nut low with counterfeit protection. The turn I'm not so sure about.

Re: 2nd Pair vs button PFR (2-4)
You guys are all okay with the 3-betting PF? I like the rest of the hand, but what about a call C/R the flop?
I don't know about the PF 3-bet from the SB, although I do see its merits. I think...

Re: 2/4 party - 66 hits set.
On the flop I think I like just betting right out. There's 6 players in the pot, you're not going to lose them all.
The rest I like.

Re: TT in SB, please tell me why I suck
I don't think the PF 3-bet is a good idea. With that much money in the pot already I don't think you can eliminate many limpers, if any.
I'd be tempted to try for a C/R on the flop, but that...

Re: Party 5/10 spew fest, part II.
3-bet that flop. It'd be standard for him to raise you here with almost any J, and even a FD.
3-bet the turn, and check-call if he caps it.

Re: 55 Family Pot 2/4 crypto
I don't really like the limp re-raise there. The hand is multiway, which is nice for you, but low pairs like that make most of their money on the flop and beyond. You're investing unnecessary bets...
