I cap the turn and bet the river. CO could easily have two pair and with the other EP players caught inbetween you have a nice overlay. I think your ahead >25% so I'm looking to put more bets in.

Preflop, is this standard?

I've never done this, how many people in before we can do this profitably?

[/ QUOTE ]

It is clearly profitable when more than twelve see the flop.

I think it might be profitable to put in a second bet, when 6 or more see the flop, but I think putting in the third bet isn't profitable.

There's only 2 combos of QJs and I doubt many 2/4 players have the brains to raise/cap this hand preflop. He's not likely to have 2-pairs.

Do not 3-bet preflop.

[/ QUOTE ]

I missed this in the OP. I agree that 3betting preflop is bad here.

The three bet by hero preflop is definitely -EV. The pot is already large and after flopping a set you will usually end up winning the hand do not invest more money in the pot only to have to give it up on the flop when you don't hit. I understand you want to isolate by giving the CO a chance to cap but at 2-3 this won't drive anyone out once they see a sizable pot accumulating. I would say that the raise on the flop and turn are good. When the CO 3 bets turn I think 90 percent of the time he has QQ or JJ (which I would think he would definitely cap with). After his 3 bet calling down is the best choice. In other words I'd say you played it perfectly except for the 3-bet preflop.

I think the preflop equity push is pointless.

The rest looks good. What a huge pot.

Ya...too bad I lost it. The villain did indeed have JJ for an overset. I figured I was doomed after the flop cold call and turn 3 bet.

Wasn't sure about my preflop play, though. Thanks for the input.

I don't really like the limp re-raise there. The hand is multiway, which is nice for you, but low pairs like that make most of their money on the flop and beyond. You're investing unnecessary bets with a speculative hand by re-raising like that preflop.

The turn 3-bet from CO is a bit scary, as now it looks like he could have QQ or JJ, and UTG+1 has QJ. But, the pot is enormous so I think you're ahead enough here to call.
