Default Sometimes I just do stuff.... QQ, 5/10

Villain here is on the lag side (40/10/1.8 I think), but not intelligent (or dumb) enough to 3-bet this turn on a draw or with 2nd pair. In other words I haven't seen him get completely out of line. I planned on C/R'ing any turn.

I think you're going to see a J with or without a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] draw enough to call the river.

I think you might have saved some money 3-betting the flop and getting a better idea where you're at. Otherwise I think you played it fine.

So if I intended to take this to SD, and since I have to call a 3-bet(Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]), does that make the turn C/R a bad idea? A player like this is calling down with 2nd pair all the time. Anybody prefer a turn donk?

I don't think I'd c/r the turn unless I planned to call a bet on the end. It isn't clear to me what was the purpose of the turn c/r, either. You can't have liked calling the 3-bet. The third card to the flush has fallen, and he's been acting like he has a flush draw; his action on the turn represents a made flush.

I think I would have preferred bet/3-bet on the flop, and given the nature of the turn card, call him down from there unless a spade falls on the river.

Just my $.02 worth...

My reasoning was that this player would easily call down with any J, especially with a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. However I hadn't considered how expensive a 3-bet would be since I was holding the Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I'm thinking playing this more straight-forward with the line you suggested would have made more sense.

The thing that strikes me about this hand is that it is difficult to put villain on a hand. Might be easier for villain to put hero on a hand. Villain posted and opened. Hero 3-bet preflop.

That said I think the best play is to 3-bet the flop and lead the turn.

you can't fold to a 3 bet so the turn raise SUCKS.
