Re: Preflop fundamentals: QQ facing push four-bet

Without reads, I assume Villain has AA or KK here close to 100% of the time. You might find a super-aggro player doing this with much less (99+) at 6-max, but unlikely at full ring.

Re: beginner mind boggling question

[ QUOTE ]
Against a set I don't think you can have a 15 out draw.
9 flush + 6 straight - one pair card on turn = 14.
9 flush + 6 straight - two pair cards on river = 13.

I think OP is...

Really? Is not folding preflop a big leak? I normally play AQ UTG at 9-handed tables (on Stars, although I mainly play 6m anyway), and you're...

Re: 1/2 Caesar\'s: KK v. calling station, heartbreak river

Having played some 1/2 the MGM, I can say that in my experience, the vast majority of players do not take pot size into account when making or calling raises. $25 is a "big" raise to most at the...

Re: Flopped trips

SB is extremely unlikely to have AK or AA here - if he's the type to smooth call preflop with a monster, why would he spring the trap so soon when the flop hits?

Re: Pocket 7s facing a huge raise pf

Check the SSNL FAQ for the 5-10 rule. Given your read, this is usually a fold.

Re: AKo versus The Nemesis of the Day

[ QUOTE ]
What I meant was, I think he only folds to our CB when were ahead, and he folds correctly, so what do we gain if all our bet achieves is folding out worse hands with few outs?

Re: Another maximising value thread - turn bet size?

Standard. The important raise here isn't the turn raise, but rather the flop raise.

You re-raised enough on the flop to make the turn all-in less than PSB, which is exactly what you wanted.

Re: 98s flops flush, extracting value - call or push?

Bet by SB smells like a C-bet on a board like this, so I don't think there is much of a chance of him coming along for the ride. The gap between him calling $10 to go and a push probably isn't so...
