Re: $16 44 CO 5-handed, push 9bbs?

Under 10 bb 5 handed is a lot of pressure to find a hand to go with. This may be the best you get for a while. It's true that A5 is a coin flip, but who calls a big chunk of his stack with that...

Re: $60: TPNK from blinds again

I think this is the BEST of the responses so far; I'm surprised nobody else suggested leading. Yes, you're outplayed by a bluff raise, but this is less likely than an obvious steal bluff after 2...

Re: $60: AKs early

Fair enough. Not sure the "air" option is too likely, but let's go with it. If he has AQ or KQ, you're in bad shape with one card to come. If he has air, a raise gets him to fold A9 or AT where his...

Re: $60: AKs early

How is it "hard" that he connected with this coordinated board? He bet into the 10 on the turn. If he has nothing, he's REALLY being tricky and has HUGE stones. If he was going to bluff or...

Re: $60: AKs early

How is this a huge draw? 9 diamonds & 3 other Qs is 12 outs. You're 3-1 against making your hand, and all your chips are in the pot. Even if the other 3 aces and kings (6 more outs) are wins, you're...

Re: 6.50, AK did I play this like a donkey? Me thinks I did.

Why do so many of you think this is a standard call at 6.50? Do a lot of these players shove on a bluff with a coordinated board against a player who's shown strength? Shove is a 2 pair play trying...

Re: $60: AKs early

I think folding the turn is reasonable - especially in a SNG. You need your opponent to call a $700 bet (or more) on the river when you hit a diamond (most likely win) to have the right implied odds....

raise all pocket pairs from all positions, apart from the blinds, unless someone is severely shortstacked or is 3 betting you a bunch behind you

Re: 100 NL || 99 overpair + OESD, overbet turn shove

It's just over 28% with a full 13 outs - less with 10 outs. Your pot odds are way to low to play if you're behind. You also didn't consider the possibility of his trapping this way with a large pair....

Re: (200 6m) PF AJ hijinx

I sort of like the move. Button probably doesn't have too much because he didn't try to raise out the blinds. CO is probably going all in anyway. But you're risking $94 to win $23 (assuming CO...

Re: Pocket Pairs- Raise or Limb

I notice that stack size hasn't been discussed. One reason to raise is to build a big pot for when you hit your set. You want enough in the pot pre-flop to get all the money in with the escalating...

But why lead flop? it either folds out lower pp's or hands like aq-a10 or it gets reraised which gives us another tough decision. The turn card i thought was the perfect card for me 2 c/r...

i feel like pot control is much better exercised on the turn, where it might be more likely for us to c/f complete whiffs, in terms of balancing our play. we c/f whiffs on the flop so...

If you're willing to go for all your chips with a blank on the turn, what were you going to do with an A, K, or heart on the turn? If he's so aggressive you still would push,...

Re: KQ suited

Why has nobody commented on the play on the flop? I don't like trapping with just TP in a cash game. I'd have led out which likely fails here when he lets me bet off my chips against him. Your check...

Re: AA UTG

How did we get to $20 on the flop? Was this something like $1-$2 blinds, a raise to $7 by you and $1 raked?

Anyway, if you raised pre-flop, he either has a 4 or is jerking you off because you...

Re: Chasing non nut draws then stuck on river

You're probably stuck paying him off. There are probably many hands he could hold without a K. He may be facing the same problem you are (who's got a K) and be making defensive bets of 1/3 the pot to...

I guess I wasn't completely clear. You were check raised on the flop. Why do you think top pair is good? It might be good if he's aggressive holding a weaker kicker or just being tricky, but you...

Re: NL100: Getting aggressive w/tptk

Why does everyone assume you're ahead here? He might play this way with 66 or 22 and have flopped a set. He could also have QQ or JJ. He doesn't know you, and doesn't know how aggressive you get on...

Re: 1/2 - Push river with AK in RR pot?

I think his most likely hand is AQ, and the river card will let you get another $72. He probably made a mistake calling the turn.

My other thought is he could be trapping with AA or KK, but he'd...

Re: AQo 100nl, mutliway, TP on flop, how much to raise? reason? then w

Isn't this really TPTK? AK is 2 pair.

I understand the logic behind calling, but there is value in raising. Even if better hands call and worse hands fold you gain value. In the first case you can...

Re: AQo 100nl, mutliway, TP on flop, how much to raise? reason? then what?

My vote would have been 42, but that wan't a choice /images/graemlins/frown.gif If you don't raise to 42 or higher, they are getting better than 3-1; I like to make draws face 3-1 or worse because...

Re: QQ facing a mini-raise and then 4-bet

This smells like a trap. I frequently see some players only raising to 2x BB with a weak raise, but they never seem to reraise. Without the reraise, he might have something like jj, tt, or 99 and...
