Re: Small/medium pairs in early position - standard line?

So an UTG raise with 77 is at the aggresive end of standard play? and a UTG raise with 44 would be sorta maniac play? Again assuming a standard table (25% of people seeing flop)

What about KQ and...

Re: 100NL: AA facing Turn Bet

He seems to have bought in for the max, id say thats more important than 24 hands of data. Less likely to be a beginner.

My standard line would be call and reevaluate on the river.

If hes...

Re: Got a little lost

Is mine even worse than yours? I find these situations come up a bit and I think they can be worth a bet.

The blind will talk himself out of calling, or not pay enough attention, alot of the time....

Re: AA preflop Raiser, Hero?

if you were going to play, you should have bet the flop yorself.

calling is a mistake- 8 outs and you might only get half if you make it

Re: 4 card double discard Irish hand where I might be getting freeroll

if the flush doesnt come on the turn he might have to discard his flush draw, so freerolling aint as bad as in omaha.

Re: Wrap draw vs. 3 all in players

i like wraps in multiway pots,

Re: I have 3 options

Call , lead any flop that doesn't have an ace for 2/3 of the pot, fold to a raise.

If he just calls the flop u have to look at the texture of the flop more closely. In general if there are...

Re: Standard?

I suppose the other line I would consider would be to bet $20 on the turn after he checks to me, with the intention of folding to a raise and checking down the river.

Do people prefer that line?

Re: Standard?

I suppose there are a few other reasons to smooth call.

I often call preflop raises with crap pairs hoping to flop sets.

At this level it is meat and veg.

However, I almost never call...

Am i not playing poker by just calling?

I have position and concealed strength.

Also, while there is no reason to believe Im likely behind, I must put aa and kk in his likely range.

I put...

Am I not about to over play my hand?

(if he pushs I can fold with a reasonable degree of...

Re: QQ loots of action.

I dont think you should bet the full pot on the flop.

I think you should bet 600-800. U want this guy to call with hands that dont have a ten in them! Specifically if this guy has a pair smaller...

Re: $200 plo pretty sure i screwed up - but where?

If u were beating him on the flop, which u probably were, your still beating him on the river. I'd call for sure.

2 2 was the dream turn and river for u.

Re: Turning a good hand into a bluff

I dont like calling a bet from a solid player with top two on a relatively draw free board.

Re: Hung, drawn, quartered...

Thats a good point/question, I might have ended up paying this guy off for a pot bet on the river, given the way the hand played out.

Re: Few decisions

This discussion shows how bad a hand bottom set often is.

I'd raise the flop, and really start to worry if I got a call.

Raising the turn is imaginative and when he has a draw or AK it seems a...

Re: Hung, drawn, quartered...

Thats some hand Ribbo, and a good point. There are a lot of turn cards that will kill your action.

Also, very few people will fold the bare nuts so there is rarely a need to slowplay the nuts...
