Few decisions
No stats. I think not bombing the turn was a mistake. River is interesting too.

Re: Few decisions
Your fill cards on the flop are bad ones because they make you an underfull, so jack it then and see what happens.

Re: Few decisions
Wouldn't you prefer a turn raise over flop raise?

Re: Few decisions
He bet out into a field which means a higher set, AK or a big draw, and you need to find out which. And like I said, an A or K coming to fill you often will in fact be bad news versus something like AxKxJcTc. So you need to try to get a feel for whether you are ahead and charge a draw or top 2 to outrun you.

Re: Few decisions
OK, but wouldn't call teach me that? This guy is going to have to play extremely honest on the turn on blanks and none blanks.

Re: Few decisions
Why would he think AK wasn't best if he had a draw to go with it on a drawing board where you might have just a draw? And if he just has a big draw and puts you on a draw yourself, then he will bet again and if you fold bottom set he has accomplished a lot.

Re: Few decisions
This discussion shows how bad a hand bottom set often is.
I'd raise the flop, and really start to worry if I got a call. Raising the turn is imaginative and when he has a draw or AK it seems a great line. The clear problem is the times he has u beat, your clearly going to get stacked with bottom set. Its trapping yourself. If you knew he is the kind of player who always raises big pairs, even from up front, that would go a long way to making this an easier hand to play. The river is a tough decision. I like to try the steal if I have a club above 7 and otherwise not. Its a useful way of randomising your play and also slightly decreases the chance of the villain having a flush. |
