I multitable 12 tables so I have no idea what this guy is like except

1) he is not a regular multitabler
2) he is winning
3) he has not done anything out of line that I have seen

He probably thinks I am a rock. I play less than 20% of hands dealt, including the blinds.

Reraise preflop, you have too much hand here not to.

Postflop, my raise would be a little bigger ($20 probably), otherwise I like it.

antidan 444,

If I reraise preflop, say I make it 15 to run, and he just calls, what next?

Am I not about to over play my hand?

(if he pushs I can fold with a reasonable degree of confidence, but alot of players will not push aa or kk here. I think they are right not to. They have me by the short and curlys!)

What next is to bet the flop, probably 2/3rds pot. If he calls or raises you'll have to play poker. There's no reason to believe you're behind, playing passive scared poker is no good.

I agree you are scared of 3 hands here.. AA, KK, or JJ. Bet your hand, and react accordingly. THere are plenty of hands villian is raising here that aren't AA, KK, or JJ.

I don't mind the preflop smooth call, but I lean towards reraising with UTG+ in the hand. The rest looks pretty standard.

Am i not playing poker by just calling?

I have position and concealed strength.

Also, while there is no reason to believe Im likely behind, I must put aa and kk in his likely range.

I put him on a range of aa, kk , ak, aq, jj and 1010,
(less likely ajs/99/high suited connector like kq)

I suppoose this is turning into a what and when to reraise preflop discussion.

Also, when u say if he calls or raises youll have to play poker seems to dodge the point a bit. Do i fold to a flop check raise? In my mind I definetlty have to.

When I say "you have to play poker" it means "it depends on my read of my opponent." There are opponents I'd gladly get all-in and some I'd fold to a raise in a heartbeat. As usual there's no concrete play.

I suppose there are a few other reasons to smooth call.

I often call preflop raises with crap pairs hoping to flop sets.

At this level it is meat and veg.

However, I almost never call people down when they continuation bet the flop. One of the advantages of smooth calling with qq, is it shows the regulars that when i call their preflop raises, they cant just bet the flop and shutdown when i call. it means they dont always know I've flopped a set.

Also, against weak tight non-regulars, they may well stop betting their ak when they miss the flop allowing me to pick up a few pots I wouldn't otherwise.

I suppose the other line I would consider would be to bet $20 on the turn after he checks to me, with the intention of folding to a raise and checking down the river.

Do people prefer that line?

It's a bit more aggresive, and some people might actually fold kk or aa in this spot! Im pretty sure that most oppenents will just call the turn bet and check the river with aa or kk.
