Re: LO8 $1/$2 Turn nut low, betting capped

Not to mention, it's possible the other player, if he indeed has an A2, might realize with you calling all bets, maybe he'll slow down on the river. I'm gonna call in this spot. Preflop, your hand...

Re: A234 spot

Fiasco, you're not going to get checked to on the turn here. As far as the question goes, you've got to fold. I don't really consider "peeling" calling 2 bets, or possibly more. Then, if the turn...

Re: LO8 Take the free turn?

Against 3 players, in position, I'm gonna take the free card here. You've got to think against 3 other players there's either a nut low draw or an A-4 as well. With what you said about the BB, he...

Re: playing for a living

Nobody has touched on one of the most important answers to the question. How is your money management? With a standard job, you pretty much know what you're going to make, what you can do with it,...

Re: AA holding question

I guess it depends how well you play. If you can't stand to lay down AA in the face of a couple raises, you're gonna lose a ton with that hand. AK vs. 1 player is certainly the less risky/lower...

Re: Best Poker Book U ever Read:

I wanted to add a book to this list. It doesn't contain the strategy you're looking for, but Ace on the River by Barry Greenstein was a fun read for me. He touches on some of the "real world" parts...

Re: A239

I might have bet this flop, hoping to get any stragglers calling for low out of there, not to mention giving a free card to a gutshot that would not have called. Perhaps I'd check the turn then, if...

Re: Calling 2 bets cold on flop with nut low draw and backdoor flush draw

A. That's actually funny. Most self-conscious egomaniacs aren't funny.
B. Does this mean I have a fan on here now, that you went so far to read my whole profile?
C. This crap doesn't belong on...

Re: Calling 2 bets cold on flop with nut low draw and backdoor flush d

Ignoring the smartass who likes to rundown others opinions, the facts are simple. Anyone whose ever played O/8 knows, the pot is not won on the flop. Flopped hands rarely hold up. Any backup that...

Re: results

That's the reason you CAN'T play this flop slow. You won't know where you're at. 1/2 pot sized bet by the pre-flop raiser, then just call-call? What does that tell you about the strength of their...

Re: AKs from the small blind in six handed tournament.

I'm pushing it all in here. You don't look to be in horrible shape, if they call, and with your dwindling stack size, this is a great opportunity to pick up those loose chips in there, if they muck....

Re: Summer job: online poker and putting in the hands.

It HAS to be a combination. Anyone who have ever played for a living know, there are times you just don't want to play. But, there are times you HAVE to. That's why it takes a special person to be...

Re: Addicted to the Internet

Try going a week without it. See how you feel. If you can't make it, you might just have yourself a little addiction. Better than crack, sure, but it can still affect your relationships/social...

Re: plo8 200 on party, flopped set

This isn't a flop you want to mess around with. I'm going to bet this flop 999/1000. What are you gonna do when the Tc comes on the turn, and you tried to get fancy by going for a check-raise,...

Re: Calling 2 bets cold on flop with nut low draw and backdoor flush d

Yeah, you absolutely have to call this flop. Don't discount the 8 in your hand, either. If it gets down to heads up by the river, an it comes A or 3, that 8 could look pretty nice.

Re: 5/10 6max hand

I agree, I think calling the turn accomplishes the same thing. If you have him beat and he is bluffing at you, you win his bet and perhaps one more. If he has you beat, your raise will not deter...

Re: Kill on Blind

I disagree on the fold. You're getting 9-1 here, I think you should call, but realize this: Know the kind of hand you want to make. You do NOT want to flop bottom set. You do NOT want to make a...

Re: Handling Tilt

It's a matter of your perspective. If you can realize that it's all part of one big game, and keep it in that perspective, than you should feel better about your results. Sure, when your KQ gets...

Re: Sabotaging Yourself?

Re: playing JJ-KK for set value

When you're talking 6-handed, set value, no, but the fact it's a big pair can be just as important. I personally can't stand playing JJ or QQ. I don't mind KK as much, especially with some flush...

Re: What forms have the highest/lowest variance?

I play a tight-aggressive style. I find that omaha/8 has the lowest variance for me. But, just as important as your strategy, is game selection. If you play in jam-up holdem games, your variance...

Re: Best book to learn LAG style?

Out of curiousity, why do you want to learn LAG? To know more about your opponents, or to fine tune your game? There's nothing wrong with being TAG. Lower variance, and in the long run, just as...

Re: Defense against continuation bet??

I know it's a home game, but could you perhaps get position on him in someway? If not, I'd just play a tight-aggressive game against him. Don't try to get too fancy, play your straightforward game....

Re: Incredible 30/60 party game

No, that's pretty sweet though. The times I've played in that game, it's been pretty good, not like everyone sees the flop, but getting action on my hands.
