Re: Playing Tightly
I get that sort of thing too, since I'm a pretty tight player. I also like to stay low key, so my response would usually be sort of a half-smile and say "Maybe." Depends on the tone of the...

Re: SSHE starting to work
I am rereading SSHE again in preparation for a Vegas trip starting this weekend. I find that even just a quick review for reminders is very helpful, particularly (for me) in taking pots here and...

Re: All star weekend
I will be there. I intend to play mostly 4/8 limit. I would assume the poker rooms will be quite busy. I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Vegas Hotels Strato vs. Excalibur vs. Luxor
Excalibur is physically closest of the 3 to the most other poker rooms on the Strip. However, for the $90 you'd save by going with the Strat, you could use bus, cab, or Monorail (from the Sahara...

Re: Low stakes poker in Las Vegas
If I had $150 to use for poker in Las Vegas, I would just play 2/4 or 3/6 limit cash games, of which there are plenty. If you play fairly tight, you'll get more play for your money than playing low...

Re: How is TI?
My wife and I stayed at TI in May and liked it a lot. Easy access from elevator to street. Also a tram that runs to Mirage front door cuts some of the distance walking down the strip. Roooms are...

Re: Cruise Ship Poker?
Thanks Michael. We will probably be on the Island Princess, because its schedule works best for us.
We took the Grand Princess out of Galveston a couple of years ago and they had a decent low...

Re: Cruise Ship Poker?
And I'm planning an Alaska trip next summer on Princess, so any information on Princess' Alaska ships (Coral, Island, Diamond, Sapphire) would be welcome as well.

Re: Any tips on dealing with smoke?
In LV the most smoke-free rooms are going to be the ones completely separated from the casino. Caesar's, Harrah's, and TI would probably have the cleanest air. Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, and Venetian...

Re: Poker on Cruise Ships: Royal Caribbean
I am curious about this too, since my wife and I will be going on a RC cruise out of Galveston in December.
I played 2/4 limit every night on the Grand Princess out of Galveston in Dec 2004. One...

Re: Ceasar\'s Daily Tournies
The extra 3000 is worth more to you when the blinds are 25 and 50 than after the blinds have gone up to 100-200 with a 25 ante.

Re: Where can my wife play in Las Vegas?
Excalibur, Flamingo, Bally's, MGM probably have the most tourist-friendly 2/4 limit games (IMHO).
I think the best 2 small-buy-in tournaments are Sahara ($42 + $20 single rebuy, 20 minute blinds)...

Re: Ceasar\'s Daily Tournies
I played in the Caesar's noon tournament on Monday, May 29. There were 93 players. Only one rebuy was allowed. Most of the folks at my table took it. $80 gets you 1500 in chips. The $50 rebuy gets...

Re: Low limit in NM?
Thanks for the responses. I'm not interested in anything too serious. Just a couple of hours of low limit poker to get my fix until I go on my next Vegas trip (basically a 3 day low limit poker-thon)...

Low limit in NM?

Re: No Limit Hold-Em on Cruise ships
I was on Grand Princess in Dec of 2004. They had just started poker weeks before. The rake was $1 per $10 up to $5 max. They offered 2/4, 3/6, and 4/8, but all anyone played was 2/4. Any information...
