Didn't Felicia Lee report one cruise-ship she went on that had 10% up to $10-max rake?
Golly, that's nuts.

Not me, but I have heard NCL's ships have poker tables in their casinos, and spread 3/6 with a 10% rake up to $5. 4/8 with a 10% rake up to $10. NCL, however, is the only line that has a supposed player's club which offers perks (free drinks, ship credits, etc).

The Carnival ship I was on (Spirit) had 5/10 LHE, 10% rake up to $5.

The Princess ship I was on (Sapphire) had 4/8 LHE, 10% rake up to $5.

I have heard rumors that Royal Caribbean is charging 10% up to $20

I was on the Carnival Mircale a couple months ago.. they spread 2/4 LHE the first night, and 3/6LHE the rest of the cruise. Super fishy game.

I've been on 2 Carnival Cruises and played poker every second the table was going both times.

The most recent trip was the week of New Year's this year, and they only had 5/10 limit hold'em... so unless it's new, they don't spread no limit.

The games were softer than you can imagine, and the rake was basically up to the dealer with no maximum. The manager told me it was $2 for every $10 in the pot "he thought," but the dealers usually just put a handful of chips in the drop or forgot all together.

The dealers are horrible, and deal maybe 20 hands an hour.

Still, I earned more than the price of the entire cruise both times. Obviously I ran well, but the game still rates to be beatable even considering the rake.

I'm going on a NCL trip this September and they are supposed to have a poker game going in their casino... so I'll trip report it.

Just got back from a cruise on NCL Star - they had 3 tables available in a corner of the casino. 3/6 was available most evenings. Of course, you'll see all the same people during the cruise with the addition of the occasional "let's try this poker thing" player. Rake was 10% max $5.

They also had one NL tournament - $60 buyin with $60 rebuys and a $60 addon with a max of 36 people (yes - 12 person tables). 15 minutes rounds. Rake was high, but i'm not sure how high.

I was on the Jewel, which is NCL. They had a $5-10 game I believe, but the players don't get free drinks from what I saw. I didn't play since I was on vacation! It didn't run every day and was usually short handed, but as you might imagine NO ONE had a clue

I was on Grand Princess in Dec of 2004. They had just started poker weeks before. The rake was $1 per $10 up to $5 max. They offered 2/4, 3/6, and 4/8, but all anyone played was 2/4. Any information aboout Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas? We are scheduled for that ship this Dec. Thanks.
