Re: Playing Tightly
I also used to worry a lot about not getting action because I play tight but it never happens.

Re: Playing Tightly
Eh just say you're getting bad cards.
If you're getting too much respect show down some PF raises with speculative hands. This really doesnt happen much tho. |

Re: Playing Tightly
"My favorite hand is 23o, but I haven't gotten it yet."
"No, but I've been stuck with nothing but high pairs." "I love giving people the opportunity to suck out." "Don't you?" "I only play suited AA, but they don't come very often." "I've given up playing 72 for lent." |

Re: Playing Tightly
I get that sort of thing too, since I'm a pretty tight player. I also like to stay low key, so my response would usually be sort of a half-smile and say "Maybe." Depends on the tone of the questioner. I wouldn't say much though, just a smile will do.

Re: Playing Tightly
Yesterday I was playing @ Hilton lv 3/6 game. At first table was shorthanded for about 2 hours and I loosened up my usual tight play. I lost twice with a full house once to quads and once to a bigger boat, to the same guy in less than 20 minutes. I tightened back up as the table started to seat players and we were soon full. I had been card dead not playing a hand for two orbits, I looked down @ AA in late position and two people commented on me playing this pot, one said "raise alert" to the whole table. It did not matter I still got 4 callers plus the blinds and my AA held up and I was almost even.
