Re: High Stakes Poker thread (9/10)
Yeah, Helmuth congratulating someone for owning him on national TV, not going to happen. Really I think he betrayed his hand with all that stupid table talk. He played Baxter for a chump and...

Re: Sustainable 2/4 and 3/6 BB/100 on stars?
my first 2500 at stars I am running over 5BB/100 at 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6. I have the same kind of feeling like this must inevitably turn around soon. Or are these guys just that bad? Would be curious...

Re: $3/$6 - JJJ - Value bet River?
Easy bet/call. You can beat a number of hands that might check raise you here, 88, J8, 89.. and perhaps a few more. Your hand is strong enough to bet here even on a very unfriendly board.
I...

I agree fold the flop... I dont mind not raising this pf. It if were suited I think its 50/50. AJs everytime. Not because its not a strong hand, but because of our poor position relative to the...

Re: pf poll
If I had to choose one, which obviously is stupid, I would always call. Why? Because the flop tells me how far I want to go with my hand, and Id rather save my extra bets for after I have more...

Re: AKs in BB ugly flop
You have to let this one go. In a 5 or 6 handed pot, being out of position is really disadvantageous. You make a good raise to push your large pf equity edge, but I don't like to continuation bet...

Re: Tough spot w/ top two?
I like a call down here. If someone flopped a straight, id rather find out with an extra couple small bets on the flop than by getting raised on the turn. Your ahead a good share of the time here...

Re: A8s from UTG
I dont open with A8s UTG unless I have some sort of read about the table... i.e. theres a maniac who raises 80% pf or guys will cold call with J8o or something retarded like that. You got two...

Re: Overcard whiff, basic question
I like your flop check against 3 opponents, but why not take one off? You may still have six clean outs, and they appear like the type of opponents who will pay you off. Plus, you have great...

Re: thin value town
No way. Thats a little too thin. Even if you think you think that you are ahead most of the time, your not getting paid off by a worse hand often enough to make it worth it.

Re: 5/10 - 1 card flush
Absolutely bet/call. You only need to catch a bluff 10% of the time to show a profit. You might be sure that you are beaten, but are you over 90% sure? Even against the tightest players, this is a...

Re: I think you\'re gonna puke at thiFols river
I understand being a little shell shocked after a big downswing... but this is a "stand on the raise button" kind of hand. Against an unknown, you'll find a maniac or an aggressive player...

Re: I have never done this. Should I?
[ QUOTE ]
Preflop is slightly looser than I would defend with without a read but it is not bad by any means necessarily. Flop bet is not good IMO. Think of what he'll fold immediately on the flop...

Re: I have never done this. Should I?

PF call is bad.
Flop play is bad because almost everything he raises on the flop will continue to at least the turn.
I think you may fold 77/88/99 this way, not really sure what else...

with no reads, its hard to say. Why did this guy wake up and start donking you on the turn? This makes me suspicious if a tricky, aggressive player does this, because if the...
