Default Preflop - Hate it or love it. AT OTB

60/11/.7 raises UTG, 2 folds, Hero calls AT.

SB is 30/20/2.8, BB is unknown.

I dislike. I don't think your hand matches up well against his range, plus coldcalling is icky.

don't mind the coldcall too much as SB will have a small range to play here, BB would be the only concern.

I am concerned however about AT plays against his hand range. He seems passive enough however to give me some rivers cheaply.

By coldcalling you basically have to hit to win, unless we have a predictable read on the villain or he has a wider range than I think.

I don't know the exact numbers but you'll only hit the flop about a 3rd of the time, and sometimes you'll be dominated when you do flop.

Like have you read Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players? I think they took like twenty pages to bash playing AT against a raiser.

edit : This is not a play I make ever, I did however make it today as I think against this player it would be easy to find out if I am ahead, he is also loose enough to pay me off.

It's pretty amusing because they talk about it as a hand a "self-educated" player will frequently overvalue in the wrong situations.

Really hate it. Against an 11% pfraiser, I need stats more like 60/40/x, i.e. something far out of the ordinary. Cold calling with AT is spewy.
