Re: Rock is dead

[ QUOTE ]
Its interesting to me that you included My Dying Brides last two record cos for me they have lost their way on those recent releases, the return to their more original sound hasnt worked,...

Re: Rock is dead

I was wondering if any metal would be mentioned in this forum. Although it's turning up in a rock thread, this will do for now.

Here are some other current metal bands that are putting out some...

Re: Moving Up....1/.2 to .25/.50 ?

I remember my move from PokerStars 0.10/0.20 to 0.25/0.50. Actually, for a while it felt for me that the 0.10/0.20 were much looser during the night, and that it was slightly more difficult to find...

Re: A couple check-raising hands

Thanks for the input guys. Seems like for hand 1, I made a decent play, but for the wrong reasons. Next time, I'll have a set plan of action to follow before I even see the flop.

On hand 2,...

Re: This hand got out of control: Was I right to stay in?

Don't tell us you won this hand in your initial post. It can skew advice.

I have nothing more to add to the general advice of cap pre-flop and fold the turn. Lots of times here you will be up...

Re: 0.5/1 Flopping two pair from the blinds

[ QUOTE ]
Fold pre-flop. Doing anything besides betting on this flop is dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]

I also agree with this. T5o performs terribly multi-way, and even in the SB it'll be a losing hand.

Re: 0.5/1 Flopping two pair from the blinds

I probably just bet out here, and hope that someone ahead of me raises, so I can then put in a 3-bet. No one raised pre-flop, so I'd be worried about this getting checked through. Plus, no one is...

Re: I don\'t think I can call this donk bet

*Grunch*

I like flop c-bet since pot is big. I think I check/call the turn though, these guys aren't folding, and since four players saw the flop, I'm slightly nervous with only ace-high.

I...

Re: Big pot--how would you have played it?

I would have check/called the flop. You have a BDSD, so I think you have about 3 outs on the flop, so a call here is warranted with the large pot. I don't believe you're ahead here with 4 players...

A couple check-raising hands

I tried my hand at some 0.50/1.00 today, since I'm close to having a 300BB roll for it, and I had been stuck in a break-even stretch, so I was hoping this would change things up a little.

I...

Re: baby flush facing action

*Grunch*

Bet the flop. Bet/3-bet the turn. Bet/call the river.

That fold on the river is bad. There's also a possible straight out there for something like A3, you can't be sure they have a...

Re: .5 / 1 Hand, can I call this?

Raise pre-flop. Calling here = bad.

I like flop raise. BB 3-bet is curious, but who knows what he could have. I like the advice of capping.

By capping the flop, you're pretty much obligated...

Re: TP no kicker + BDFD, call flop?

[ QUOTE ]
Grunch:

Fold preflop.

He's in the SB. Completing in an unraised pot with any two suited cards is almost always correct.

Re: TP no kicker + BDFD, call flop?

[ QUOTE ]
Folding sucks. I'd peel here without the BDFD.

Even if you think you're dominated, you've got 4.5 outs to victory (BDFD + 3 two pair outs). Also, you're closing the action so you don't...

Re: Once...Twice....Three times a donkey?

Without a read beyond his stats, I think I'm going to call on the river after a third donk. The flop and turn raises I think are fine, you certainly have the equity, but by the river, I'm starting...

Re: QTs - a bad day

Preflop limp UTG is marginal, but against loose passives, it should be fine.

EDIT ON FLOP PLAY: I ran Pokerstove on this hand, with a tighter range for the button and giving the rest of the field...

Re: AK butchered by novice play?

*Grunch*

You have any stats on how often Villian raises pre-flop?

I check/call the flop. Why donk out? You have nothing right now except a weak draw, which is to top pair.

For the turn,...

AQo against flop donkbet

After my somewhat embarrassing last post, I tried to find something better to post. I'm hoping this isn't another immediately obvious hand... but if it is, oh well.

MP2 is 38/3/1.83 after 34...

Okay, I can't say I didn't ask for this. I needed a good smack back into reality since I was thinking this way.

This villian is awesome

So I'm sitting at a loose table last night, and as I sift through PT, I find this gem of a hand and felt the urge to share it. This villian (UTG+1) has a VPIP>80% over 90 hands, BTW.

PokerStars...

Continuing a slowplay through the turn

The table is generally loose, and full of weak players.

So I flop a strong hand which turns into a monster, and the player to my immediate right donks out. I'm pretty sure my flop call was the...

Re: Top Pair - Good Kicker - Is calling down a mistake?

My gut instinct was to check/raise the flop, but given that 3-bet from our opponent, I'm having a hard time believing that would be profitable.

I actually think we can consider the bet/fold line...

Re: 0.5/1 88 vs. guy that has lost his mind and a table that knows it

Pre-flop: I'd like a 3-bet here. You know UTG is raising with crap, so time to isolate him with a decent hand. The cold-call works if you're sure that several players will come along and not go...
