Re: Value betting in Giant pot--5/10 live

Bet.

The flush coming in runner runner is very different than if there was a two-flush on the flop.

Re: Rate my and villain\'s play...

Well, it looks like your read on button was wrong. Maybe BB had a better read and knew he liked to make hopeless plays like this?

I don't like BB's turn 3-bet. He has to know when you raise the...

Re: How many outs do i have?

As far as betting the flop, in my opinion if you do not plan on betting out on a flop like this, you probably shouldn't raise preflop.

Re: How many outs do i have?

BDFD
The nut BDFD is normally worth about 1.5 outs, but with 1 in hand and 2 on board you should probably discount it to around 1 out.

So say 1 ~ 1.5 outs

BDSD #1 (A - Q - J)
This is...

Re: 5-10 @ Foxwoods: 2 hands

Hand #1 - Easy bet, if you are raised probably just call. A raise will be a smaller PP sometimes, and an 8 often. The PP might not call a 3-bet, and the 8 will cap of course. And you probably should...

Re: So I capped AQo pf, and 3 bet the flop with overs...

nh

Just to be a nit, I want to point out that folding a weaker A is huge in this big pot. With a paired board, a weak A also has 3 chop outs here. And will pick up even more chop outs on any non Q...

Re: Live Turn Checkraise

Here's my calc

Assumes you are never 3-bet, and collect one additional river bet in either scenario if you hit. You have 8 outs so you win 8/46 = 17.4% of the time.

EV (Calling) =...

Re: Live Turn Checkraise

[ QUOTE ]

You give players too much credit. Player trying to play well could easily have a hand like 1010 JJ or KK.

Probably. Maybe I'm misinterpreting what it means when we...

Re: Live Turn Checkraise

I like the spirit of the play, but maybe not in this specific scenario.

The button, who is tight, respects us, thinks we are very tight, and is trying to stay out of our way has 3-bet our UTG...

Re: 2/4 A7s Bird, Plane, Super Semi-Bluff

Assuming the blinds are tight (and I assume at least the BB is) if villian shows up here with anything other than AA/KK (maybe QQ) then he is pretty bad.

Re: two quick hands with pp

I think you played these fine.

I think the main debate is the 3-bet in hand 1, and that depends on how often you think you are ahead. My thinking is that if he is truly an old nit then you are...

Re: pot odds question

BDFD is worth somewhere between 1 and 1.5 outs. You aren't counting it as 9 outs are you?

Re: Flop check

Like James said, bet the flop and you can often check behind UI on the turn.

Also, if you check it makes the turn much more difficult to play correctly since you have basically invited them to...

Re: Live 6/12: A9s-what stage of Zee development am I at?

Strictly speaking, with two opponents you need 16+ outs to make the bet +ev. You don't have sixteen outs here. Of course, there are other factors that might make a turn raise the right play.

Re: KJs: flush draw + gutshot + two overcards on turn

Pre-flop 3-bet + Only two opponents + Flop check = Monster. Just about always.

PS 3/6: 88 and I folded a set

Like I said, I am folding a set here (on the turn no less) so you may want to avert your eyes.

UTG is loose (40/10/1.28) but is not as bad post flop as you might expect.

MP2 (16/6/1.0 over 250)...

Re: If you played 100,000 hands...

I had said 6%-8% but I came up with that number using an "average" % Flops seen and an "average" W$SF. But that's too low because it ignores pots you win while never seeing a flop.

Re: If you played 100,000 hands...

I guess if no one ever folded and 10 went to every showdown you would expect each player to win 10% over a large sample.

Playing a reasonable taggish game at full ring I'm guessing you should win...
