Re: Rate my and villain\'s play...
Well, it looks like your read on button was wrong. Maybe BB had a better read and knew he liked to make hopeless plays like this?
I don't like BB's turn 3-bet. He has to know when you raise the...

Re: How many outs do i have?
As far as betting the flop, in my opinion if you do not plan on betting out on a flop like this, you probably shouldn't raise preflop.

Re: How many outs do i have?
BDFD
The nut BDFD is normally worth about 1.5 outs, but with 1 in hand and 2 on board you should probably discount it to around 1 out.
So say 1 ~ 1.5 outs
BDSD #1 (A - Q - J)
This is...

Re: 5-10 @ Foxwoods: 2 hands
Hand #1 - Easy bet, if you are raised probably just call. A raise will be a smaller PP sometimes, and an 8 often. The PP might not call a 3-bet, and the 8 will cap of course. And you probably should...

Re: Live Turn Checkraise
Here's my calc
Assumes you are never 3-bet, and collect one additional river bet in either scenario if you hit. You have 8 outs so you win 8/46 = 17.4% of the time.
EV (Calling) =...

You give players too much credit. Player trying to play well could easily have a hand like 1010 JJ or KK.

Re: Live Turn Checkraise
I like the spirit of the play, but maybe not in this specific scenario.
The button, who is tight, respects us, thinks we are very tight, and is trying to stay out of our way has 3-bet our UTG...

Re: two quick hands with pp
I think you played these fine.
I think the main debate is the 3-bet in hand 1, and that depends on how often you think you are ahead. My thinking is that if he is truly an old nit then you are...

BDFD is worth somewhere between 1 and 1.5 outs. You aren't counting it as 9 outs are you?

Re: Flop check
Like James said, bet the flop and you can often check behind UI on the turn.
Also, if you check it makes the turn much more difficult to play correctly since you have basically invited them to...

PS 3/6: 88 and I folded a set
Like I said, I am folding a set here (on the turn no less) so you may want to avert your eyes.
UTG is loose (40/10/1.28) but is not as bad post flop as you might expect.
MP2 (16/6/1.0 over 250)...

Re: If you played 100,000 hands...
I had said 6%-8% but I came up with that number using an "average" % Flops seen and an "average" W$SF. But that's too low because it ignores pots you win while never seeing a flop.

Re: If you played 100,000 hands...
I guess if no one ever folded and 10 went to every showdown you would expect each player to win 10% over a large sample.
Playing a reasonable taggish game at full ring I'm guessing you should win...
