Hand #1 - Easy bet, if you are raised probably just call. A raise will be a smaller PP sometimes, and an 8 often. The PP might not call a 3-bet, and the 8 will cap of course. And you probably should fold to a cap, but will you? Just avoid this mess and just call a raise.
Hand #2 - Bet. You'll be suprised by a K here more often then you think, because lots of live villians won't raise the turn with just TP, plus they are afraid of AK so will just call down. It's hardly worth thinking about how to respond to a raise because you get raised here just about never, probably only by 88. Crying call, I guess, since they are unknown. |

Thanks for the responses everyone. As for the way it went down:
Hand 1 I bet, he called, and turns over QQ. I was pretty suprised. He says to me "I thought you had aces" and I responded " then why did you call". He spewed the chips off later making bad calls. Hand 2 I whimped out and checked the river. He checked behind and MHIG. I was mad at myself when he checked behind and before I knew MHWG because i felt like I was missing a bet. Thanks for the responses. Joe |
