there is no question you should have called all-in. you had at least 3 to 1 pot odds and had better equity to that on your full house / quads / backdoor flush draw

maybe he has a str8 flush (3 possible). In addition, the 4th flush card may convince him that a nut str8 is good here. Finally, maybe he's just not that good.
