Re: AA on an ugly board

The flat call on the paired board looks pretty scary. Without a pretty specific read I dump the turn when he leads.

Edit: missed the stats before I posted. 11 makes it a little more interesting. ...

Re: Three of a kind, three bet this river?

:grunch:

Why did you check the flop?

I would three-bet the river. If he has a 7, you are probably chopping. Probably a K or a weird two pair hand.

Re: more aggressive-AA?

I would raise the turn. That six is a good card for hero, as it counterfits the villan if he has a two-pair hand like Q9. Given the way that villan played his hand, it's very unlikely that he has a...

Re: Can I value bet this river?

For what it's worth, I bet, villan called with QJ, and MHIG. I do ususally bet these situations, but I wasn't sure whether a bet is +EV. Sounds like the consensus is yes.

Re: best values on poker stars

If you just want to practice your low-stakes limit hold'em, the $5 sit-and-go's are very soft, and they give you the chance to practice full ring and short-handed play. Of course the nanos on Stars...

Can I value bet this river?

I had only played about 20 hands against villain up to this point. He seemed to be a typical loose passive fish. I did notice a couple of times when he called down light (e.g. AQ on a board that...

Re: QQ with no overcards

Buck: Donkey ears (or slowplay) it is. You're right that his action makes the turn much less scary. NH.

I don't think his flop checkraise is very indicative of a draw. I expect something like KJ here a lot.

Re: KQo OTB after raise from CO

Grunch

I think that if the T helped CO he would probably have gone for a checkraise, so there is a good chance that you have the best hand. Raise and see if you can get it HU.

For some reason...

Re: How often would you raise from the BB here?

Grunch.

I would raise every time, with KQ or with 88. You have a major equity edge, and a c-bet on the flop will often take it down, even if you miss.

Re: Always raise with AK? Did I butcher this?

I would be hesitant to cap the flop here, but judging by the other posts a cap is the right play. Is the thinking that an unknown probably doesn't open-raise from EP with A9, and we're ahead of all...

Re: UTG AA, flop capped by UTG+1

Grunch. I think you played this fine. I would not 3-bet the river, I might consider check/calling though.

Is KK+ too tight a range to put this guy on here? At $1/$2 I don't see people play QQ or...
