Default Three of a kind, three bet this river?

I have seen villian for about 2 orbits, he has played enough hands that I see him as loose, but he has not shown a lot of aggression on the big streets.

Poker Stars - Limit Holdem Ring game - Limit: $0.50/$1
7 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
4 folds, Button calls, SB calls, Hero checks.

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3SB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (1.5BB, 3 players)
SB checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, Button calls, SB folds.

River: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (1.5BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Button raises</font>, ...

Again, villian has not shown a lot of aggression on the big streets, but I am thinking that he might raise here if he hit the king, but what was he calling the turn with? If he had a Q, I think he would have led the flop, if he had a K3 maybe he plays it this way, but other than K3 being played this way the only other hand that gets played this way that he would not raise PF is 7X. My kicker died when the king fell, so is a call here better than a raise, or do I continue with my big blind special and raise here?

Criticism of any part of the hand is welcome and thanked in advance.

I say pop it. chances are slim that he has a 7 more than likely has a Q and maybe KQ...

I'd bet the flop. As played, I 3-bet the river.

I think its possible that button isnt giving you credit for a 7 because you checked the flop. If he has paired up on the river he may think he is ahead. I would call, the river, but I think slowplaying your 7's is incorrect. You're ahead on the flop most of the time, but your hand isnt that strong to be giving away free cards to anybody holding a Q or a PP.

I think the flop check is fine. Def 3-bet the river.

Bowlboy,

Anyone holding a queen or PP has exactly 2 outs against us.

I think it's more "deceptive" to bet the flop than slowplaying it.

Not betting the flop was poopy.

I was trying to figure a way to play the flop and this is what I went through to decide for the C/R attempt.

The board is not draw heavy
The button appears fairly aggressive PF and on the flop.
There are only 4 cards, a 7 which I worry about, and 3 queens, that might be interested in this flop.
If the button doesn't bet this and a free one flops, I am not likely to get beat with that card.
If I wiff at the C/R and a good draw hits on the turn, such as the flush draw, the other players will not have correct odds to call a turn bet.

So I went decided that I would try for a check raise on the flop, which might catch the button making a bet the SB would call, whereas a bet by me might drive him away after a call by the button. The C/R could end it on the flop with more money in the pot. As it happened, the button checked and I bet the turn as plan B.

**Grunch**

There is another hand that makes sense and that would be 33. I do wonder what possible hand he could limp in with after 4 folds without raising. KQ - rasie, AK raise, KK raise, KJ raise, - maybe K10.... but 33 makes sense.

Personally - I always lead this flop. Makes it look like your trying to buy it. There is always debate about this subject though - but me - I lead out...

As it is - I just call the river.
