Re: 2nd pair on monotone flop

I would start by checking.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that sounds like a plan. So let's say that:

a) BB bets, UTG calls, Hero...
b) BB bets, UTG folds, Hero...

Re: Pocket Pair

Perfect, IMO.

[/ QUOTE ]

I play it the same too, and I see no other way.

Re: river fold.

[ QUOTE ]
One other thing to consider is the possibility that the villain is raising with a calling hand. I think against aggressive value bettors who can bet/fold some strong hands, raising with a...

Re: Messed up big pot 66

I agree calling is better here preflop, too much autopilot i guess.

I really could not see myself winning this hand so I folded the river. Loosie 2 showed...

Re: river bet?

I agree its a bet, but I think it is somewhat close. If he was more TAGgy and/or liked to checkraise the river I would probably check.

Re: KK nasty board

[ QUOTE ]

The bottom line is when the action goes raise-3bet here on this board, our hand is not looking too hot unless atleast one of these guys is crazy. That is the main reason I'm not capping...

Re: hmmmm

My standard line here is just calling down the whole way, usually betting if he checks.
Often wins the most if he is bluffing/drawing, and loses the least if we are behind.

Re: 2nd nut flush, easy river raise?

I have to agree with Buffsta here. Raising seems like +EV even if you do call the 3-bet, even IF he never bluff-3bets. And I am not at all convinced the last call is -EV. He only needs to be bluffing...

Messed up big pot 66

Good 6-handed 10-20 game with many loose and bad players.
I pick up 6 /images/graemlins/club.gif6 /images/graemlins/spade.gif UTG and raise.

One fold, Loosie1 (48/5/0,7) calls, Loosie2 (57/8/1,4)...

Re: AA waiting for turn

On this drawy board against all these players I guess your equity is not THAT high. So losing some extra flop bets could be ok IF you get to raise the turn on a safe card. With an "overaggressive" SB...

Re: why oh why?

I find it interesting that the problem could be guessed just from the title of the thread and your handle (for the rest of you: Swedish and translates to something like "forever bad luck").

On a...

Re: Completing in SB after 1 limp

I think how often you can complete in the SB depends a lot on how aggro BB is. If he is passive you should have the odds to complete a lot of hands, definitely J7s, perhaps not 54o.
I prefer to have...

Re: river value bet against new player

Default definitely bet against someone who seems passive, and probably calls too much. Against an unknown I would never fold to a raise, so bet/call. With some luck he bluff-raises in this spot.

Re: The State of 10/20(6-max)

FWIW filtered for only 10/20 (mostly 4-6 handed) I played
110K hands -05 winning 1,7 BB/100.

Jan-June -06 I played 55K hands winning 1,4 BB/100 (This included a 440BB slide, my record so far). ...

Re: BEAT: Erectile disfunction

Take some time off poker, you will not play your best anyway feeling like this.

And yes, get the viagra/cialis/levitra. Why not? You will not get dependent on it - you just need it to get this...

Re: TT against a re-raise

That would be pretty opponent-dependent. Against someone tight folding could be good, otherwise my default is calling down - depending on cards and action.

Re: # of tables question for the forum

I only play 2. Used to play 3 on Party but where I play now I can only fit 2 tables witout overlap. I like playing 2 better so that is fine. But then, I am old.

Re: Continuation betting when you are the blind stealer...

If called by one blind I continuation bet 100%. I think that is standard, certainly no recipe for disaster.

If called by two close to 100% - maybe pass if the flop comes very bad for me and I have...

Re: QJo OTB

Raising is bad as he probably has you beat. Folding is much much too weak getting 9,25-1, especially against an unknown. Have to call.

Re: Bad raise on the river?

So does anyone care about discussing preflop? Assuming average blinds I guess everybody would call here with KQs, QJs, JTs?
Does anyone call 9ts? 89s? kjs? qts?

Re: Bad raise on the river?

Pre flop is pretty poor and then to make up for having a poor starting hand in a raised pot of this nature you second guess every decision and basically play a line that gets you to...

Re: Bad raise on the river?

Well, ok. If you can comfortably raise/fold there might be some small value there. But if you want to drop hands from his UTG range maybe KJ should go as well... making any value in the raise a bit...

Re: Bad raise on the river?

Flop might be a good raise. But whether the river is a "standard" raise does not interest me as much as whether it is +EV or not. So please elaborate. Looking at the combinations we are ahead and...
