Re: Is this all-in call with JJ proper?

FWIW, Villain had AK. Doing quick calcs in my head at the time, I figured out I was roughly 43% vs my range for him which was quite tight (TT+, AK+). Taking into account what Ansky said, that...

Is this all-in call with JJ proper?

This was a hand from Monday night's Stars' $162. This was deep into the second hour of the tournament. The average stack was 4500 chips. Hero had a TAG image but had aggressively taken down...

Re: KK with A on flop in 50r

New poster here so please bear with me if I am spewing nonsense.

When the villian bets the turn and checks the river, what hands are you putting him on? I would think his most likely holdings are...

Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap

Can someone please explain why the OP's donk bet on the flop was proper in this case? Isn't check-call, lead the turn a better line here? Thanks.

Re: I suck at playing draws

Off the flop, if hero has QQ/99/TT, you still have 10 clean outs to beat him. Thus, initially bet more on the flop ($8/$9) to see where you stand. Villian's check miniraise could easily be a flush...

Re: 100nl - Flopped bottom two, stack off?

With villian's pfr% being so low, this could easily be AKs/AQs check-raising the flush draw. In addition, the chance of villian holding 66/99 is obv diminished by your own cards. I agree with...

Re: Sucky AK spot preflop

I don't think there is any doubt that the CO will bet this flop to protect his AA/KK/AK. Would a blocking bet work here?

Re: Sucky AK spot preflop

If the CO is solid, he is only miniraising there with hands that he wants to be called against (AA/KK). The UTG+1's hesitant call might signify JJ/QQ. Considering the solid CO's 4bet, I like your...

Re: 100NL QQ hand

As I've learned today, bet more on the flop. If villian calls a PSB, you know better how to proceed.

Re: [NL100SH] Top 2pair

Coming from someone that started with tourneys, the logic of this is completely different. In tourney play, especially if you are a 2+2'er or HOH disciple, c-bets are almost always 40-60% of the pot....

Re: [NL100SH] Top 2pair

Doesn't that mean that we need to make some c-bets that same size too then when we have air? If not, observant opponents will be able to discern our patterns quite easily. Or am I getting too...

Re: Lost on QQ hand

I think you have to bet the turn here to protect your hand from hands like TT/JJ/AKs which the button all could have had from his raise preflop. After the flop, you have already put in 1/3 of your...

Re: [NL100SH] Top 2pair

From a new player/poster, isn't betting more on the flop going to chase away hands that we want along for the ride? Will players really call a flop bet of $10 if they were going to call $7? Isn't...

Re: Playing slick

Is the size of the raise from the villian, who had been quite tight, not very suspicious here? Would that influence your shove decision any?

Re: Playing slick

This hand was from the FTOPS #3 event this past Sunday ($300+22 buyin). I was watching while my friend, the OP, played.

Hero had 4,712 chips and villian had 4,550 at the start of the hand so both...

Re: Playing slick

Does anyone else agree that leading out with a bet on the flop and folding to a big raise was the better play here?

Re: AA, Do I go broke?

I agree that you definitely needed to bet more on the flop. On that flop, a bet of $25 would have been more appropriate.

What hands would villian call with here preflop that would make his...

Re: nut straight on turn, board paired on river, can i get away?

Why didn't you 3-bet the turn with the nut hand at that point?

Re: Playing v. a Lone PF Raise - quote from adanthar - discuss please

Shaun - as a relatively new player and poster, how do you play that many MTT's at once and still manage to read the players at the table?

I would just welcome advice on that topic please. Thanks.

Re: Is this how a donk lets other donks stay around, or did I save mon

Villian limped preflop from MP1. I think it's reasonable to put him on a range of a small-medium pp, connectors, weak A-x, KQ or KJ type hand. Villian then checked to you on the flop, turn and...
