Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap
I really doubt this is an overpair

Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap
It doesn't look like an overpair. I'm not sure I want to get 200BB in with this hand. But it could be 2 pair. Or something like ATcc.
If you call there'll be 120 in pot with 140 behind on the river. Tough spot, I'd definitely call turn but I dunno how I'd play the river. |

Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap
I think 56 is his most likely holding, actually.
I call a re-evaluate river. I'll probably stick a blocker in there too, maybe like 49.95. |

Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap
Can someone please explain why the OP's donk bet on the flop was proper in this case? Isn't check-call, lead the turn a better line here? Thanks.

Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap
call - revaluate.
This is a really tough spot on the river. If you smooth called, show us the river? Blocking the river against this opponent looks really weak, given a smooth call on the turn. It will look like ATo or ATc (if a non club comes out), and may put you in even a tougher spot. I probably check / see what he does on the river. |

I'd usually c/raise here. C/call, lead turn sometimes as well. I never donk. But I think it depends on your game, that's why I didn't mention it. If you donk a lot of flops then donk with a set. If you c/raise a lot of flops then c/raise with a set. I hate donking because I want villain's cbet. |

Re: Bottom SET 200BB deap
Against some villain's it isn't so bad because they'll interpret it as AT or 99 and you're just getting a feel for things. But the villain would have to have an overpair or something strong OR be the type who reraises the hell out of everything on the flop because everyone must be weak / capable of folding / he can rep something on the turn if he calls the donk bet. So, I think that c/r here is the best line on the flop, but there are circumstances that will allow for a c-bet to work here.
