Coming from someone that started with tourneys, the logic of this is completely different. In tourney play, especially if you are a 2+2'er or HOH disciple, c-bets are almost always 40-60% of the pot. In cash games, however, from what you are telling me, this is generally not the case. I'm just wondering if anyone can explain the rationale for the difference.

Sure - it's the rebuy button and the deeper stacks.
In tourneys every chip matters, and and it's unusual in later stages to have 100BB in front of you. People fold more easily since they have relatively fewer chips, and every chip matters so much more, so a smaller bet can accomplish the same thing. |
