David Williams video

Has anyone happened to see the David Williams videos that have recently sprung up on the net? The man obviously knows how to do two things quite well. Play cards, and...

Re: 10/20NL Commerce, turned straight

samoleus really hits the nail on the head here. There were a few wrong turns in this hand. The biggest of them being the turn check. The preflop raise out of position with a bunch of loose players...

Re: 5/10 Hand that\'s bugging me

Well put MDMA... no reason to bet half a stack. So you can somehow fold to a raise? Not bloody likely. And if he calls 400 with a strong flush, he will call 800 with it. And how does getting the...

Re: 5/10 Hand that\'s bugging me

Is this a serious question? There's no doubt what to do on this river. If you don't move in on that river you should be tied down in the desert and left for dead... like in the beginning of that...

Re: Checking AA on SFD flop. 10-20

You have to fire a bet to define where you are at in the hand. I can see the wisdom in checking, but I would have to fire OOP anyway because there is the chance he'll simply fold. If I check that...

Re: Tight passive underbetting donk monkey leads river

Good post Lyric. And I would have to think a proper fold. Showing the Ad means he didn't have 2 aces. If he had 2 aces you know he shows them. Those donks love to flip over aces, as if somehow...

Re: Tough turn call with TPTK

Very well explained bigt... and when you put it that way I can most certainly see where you're coming from. There would have to be some conditions for this check to be profitable in the long run. ...

Re: How much of the time do you enjoy playing?

Whoa... those calls, very nice. Really makes you think about how different proper short handed play is from full ring.

Re: villain block-bets the river weak...pull the trigger?

No no, TO the river. Once the river hits, you play your hand accordingly... fold or make a big move depending on whether the draw completed. But our man says the guy did know how to make lay downs,...

Re: villain block-bets the river weak...pull the trigger?

If the guy is a complete fish, which is the vibe I'm getting, then check/calling to the river would be my move. I hate to be such a pansy, but against a fish bluffing, even semi bluffing, is awfully...

Re: Tough turn call with TPTK

lol You're the guy who says CHECK the turn? I mean... lets take a vote... who says bet the turn, and who says check?

Wait wait wait... the guy who said to check the turn w/AK on THAT board is...

Re: Tough turn call with TPTK

Absolutely right ender... you cannot give a free card on the turn. That would be a horrific error. If you think you have the best hand, and you got the guy on a draw (which is so very likely in...

Re: villain block-bets the river weak...pull the trigger?

I think the problem is that he's shown some strength in the hand. I like to reserve my big bluffs for people who have not shown strength in a hand... eg. calling/checking the whole way down. The...

Re: Tough turn call with TPTK

It certainly screams draw to me. It would take a very sly player to push all in w/a full house right there. Very tough spot, and the odd part is that his gross overbet is really the reason you want...

Re: \"careful, don\'t go broke now\"

No, I didn't mean move all in. When I said the aggressive player will push w/2 pair at some point I meant he will throw in a raise somewhere along the line. A push back, not a push all in.

Re: 5/10 live hand, nut straight on paired board

Sure looks like a house, no matter how you break it down. The only other logical hand is your hand... or 22, which seems like a very distinct possibility. Either way, almost all the reasonable...

Re: [Crossposted from MSNL] - bottom set laydown

Not gonna say it was bad move, you might of folded the second best hand. I know I wouldn't think about the hand all day if he had an overset though, I'd just take my beat and move on. If I didn't...

Re: tricky spot for bottom 2 5/10

Going all in is the best move. If you lose, you lose. What beats you? JJ, 88, 66, J8, 6J. The only hands that seem reasonable are the sets. The only other way I could possibly see playing it is...

Re: \"careful, don\'t go broke now\"

Sounds like you do need to say that and check the nuts. If you have the nerve, and the guile to pull that move on a good player, hats off to you. You deserve to win a big pot.

Re: \"careful, don\'t go broke now\"

AJ or AK might definatly call push... esp an aggressive player. The question is, do we really think he's that strong? Aggressive player will tend to push 2 pair even on suited boards at some point...

Re: \"careful, don\'t go broke now\"

Sorry, for the extra post! But I don't think pushing is correct. In my experiance he said that because he does not want you to bet. You must try and get maximum value here, and a bet about 1/3 of...

Re: \"careful, don\'t go broke now\"

Him saying that would scream to me "My hand is not that good!". Bet small, and force him to make a crying call w/top pair.
