Very decriptive and nice post. WTF happened preflop though? Flop and turn look okay to me. River is an easy fold IMO.

Good post Lyric. And I would have to think a proper fold. Showing the Ad means he didn't have 2 aces. If he had 2 aces you know he shows them. Those donks love to flip over aces, as if somehow that makes them the best card player in the world. That's besides the point. I have to agree, ATd seems by far the most likely hand. He calls down quick with the flush draw, hits top 2 and now makes his move. The only other hand I could even imagine it being is AK, which is a distinct possibility. A fish might see that as a hand to slow play, then come super strong on the river way over valuing it by that point in the hand. I seriously doubt he'd lead out w/a weak ace, that move just would not be in his reportaire. So ATd or AK is where I would put him.

Do you think it is always correct to re-raise AKs here? IMO it is correct to mostly re-raise and sometimes call in this spot. I chose to just call this time.

I understand just calling, but against a passive guy get some more money in the pot with position IMO. Other factors can change if other players at the table are likely to go broke/lose big pots with top pair so let them in with dominated hands.

FWIW I like how you played it post flop and respect your game/posts.

You sure let that biker bully you on the river.

How are you supposed to make money with AK if you fold even when you hit your ace??

btw, why is having WT nits at your table so great, other than so that you can laugh at them and feel better about your own superior skillz?? I'd much rather have a LP donk monkey kong.

And I've never played this high, but is this what it's like?

All the good players nod and giggle inside, shoot a couple of knowing glances, and think about how nice it is to have a tight passive underbetting monkey in our game.

Nah. I was just being facetious.

It's good to have anyone weak in the game, not just tight passive guys.
