the guy sitting in the 1 seat with the orioles visor?

the guy was really bluffable, but i was a little afraid he'd make a stand here, since as jaral mentioned he had folded KK on an 8-high board earlier and believed he'd been pushed off the best hand. but he was *really* bluffable: shortly after you left, i checkraised him on the turn with QQ with both an A and a K on board, then followed thru with a $500 bet on the river, and he took like a minute before finally calling with top2! after that i knew if the right spot came along he'd fold a non-nut hand.

I think there is ZERO chance you are getting this guy to fold a full house here.

I really hate the river bet if you believe he has a full house.

No no, TO the river. Once the river hits, you play your hand accordingly... fold or make a big move depending on whether the draw completed. But our man says the guy did know how to make lay downs, in which case I would of brought some aggression the way our Hero did

neo, when he started mumbling about flopping a lower set, i couldn't have been more sure he didn't.

Check calling to the river gives you only these 2 options--and against an opponent who shows weakness and is capable of laying down non-nuts, you want bluff options. Hero played it nicely with turn RR which set up a not-so-obvious-i-missed-a-draw river bluff.

Perhaps I misunderstood your post then. If you think he didn't have a set prior to the river then I like the play and you should pick up the pot.

You're representing 22/44/88, that being said for this bluff to work at all you have to smooth call flops like this with position with sets once and a while. I guess since villain is bluffable he might not think that far? I certaintly would though after you raise the turn. What hand does HE have though? 99-QQ? If he's planning on making a stand, he will probably do so since he called the turn. Interesting that he leads river weak though...

Looks like he has Kx diamonds. I would bet more on the river. He's likely to make a crying idiot call on the river with a K.

If he respects you then the 2k is probably fine. If you check raised him with an underpair earlier, I suspect he's looking you up with any K here.
