Re: Value bet river here?

I dont think that many players would check raise the river after going runner runner flush. The junk two pair is possible with an unpredictable player but I just don't think thats going to happen...

Re: Leave the table?

What you are talking about is just a simple version of a stop loss strategy. You've "already" made the money you are going to average so you just leave? One thing I have noticed about online play...

Re: Set - value bet or check behind against 4 opponents and drawy board

Sets are kinda funny. They are very strong hands, but not so strong that they will hold up to a slowplay (not that you should be slowplaying anything in a weak small stakes game). In addition,...

Re: Set - value bet or check behind against 4 opponents and drawy board

Wow...maybe I'm a bit aggressive but on a loose small stakes table you can get action with anything. Three diamonds doesn't mean anybody's got a flush, but if you let somebody draw cheaply to that...

Re: Please berate my fishy play and suggest a better line!

Nothing in the realm of poker gives me stronger wood then when I have a table full of loose players, most of them in the hand, and the player to the right of me three bets me into my probably nuts. ...

Re: OK so how would you go about showing poker is a game of skill?

[ QUOTE ]
Easier said that done, perhaps.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, I think it is actually quite simple.

Any game that is not house-backed and a player can gain an edge based upon unaided skill is...

Re: Please berate my fishy play and suggest a better line!

Good post, but I disagree with this. Most 3-6 players like to call. Most don't have a clue about pot odds. Some of them are so clue-less about pot odds but are so against "chasing" that they'll...

Re: My life is over.

She needs to get a FKIN job. Enough said. It will help with the money, it will get her away from you while you are trying to concentrate on poker. It doesn't matter if its a job choppin frys at...

Re: I really am supposed to go broke

No you really did the right thing, you had the right read.
If you were checking and didn't know WHY, then you would have reason to be concerned. But you had a good read, and more importantly you...

Re: BLACKJACK PROBLEM!!!!

[ QUOTE ]
This isn't exactly a rare problem for poker players.

Here's my suggestion: learn to play winning blackjack. Then one of two things will happen - either you'll be banned from the pit...

Re: from 5/10 to 10/20 t o15/30

Before I respond, I should note that my experience in small stakes is almost exclusively live games, so if you are referring to online play you should take this with a grain of salt.

I think if...

Re: Please berate my fishy play and suggest a better line!

Slowplaying a 3-6 game with a large pot and the pretty nutty (probable nuts) hand is pointless. Most 3-6 live players have gained one real concept: Pot Odds. If they feel like they have the pot...

I don't know why you do it. I do it too. Maybe we should be glad we don't do it more?

Re: from 5/10 to 10/20 t o15/30

Re: from 5/10 to 10/20 t o15/30

First off, you aren't an idiot like most people here are saying. Your beliefs were common beliefs to low limit players trying to build up before the publish of Small Stakes Hold Em. Your problem is...

I must say I have been impressed with your responses so far. I am very new the forum, but have plenty of live game play (some at the Commerce..but no higher than the 20-40 game) and thus far...

Re: Long downswing just have some questions for you guys

One thing I have done in a downswing is to fold marginal long shots. If I have a hand that has a slight +EV but is a long shot (i.e a gut shot with a huge pot) I will fold it. Of course, when your...

My table selection is always better live, probably because I never played online enough to invest in a player...

This should be a good lesson to all of the aspiring online poker players out there. If your gonna play, just keep off the crack. And if you cant, tell me where you play /images/graemlins/cool.gif
