Re: foxwoods poker rate?
I'm interested in local alternatives, however. The closer and cheaper, the better. All I'm really looking for is a semi-warm room and a shower in between poker sessions...any suggestions?

Foxwoods 30/60 or 40/80 during tourney time?
Howdy,
Planning a trip to Foxwoods on the weekend of Nov. 3rd -- I believe that's during their big tournament, but the weekend before the WPT main event.
Do limit hold 'em (not mixed) games...

Re: Taking a Shot at 2/4
[ QUOTE ]
I would lead the flop. If there were one more player in there, though, I probably wouldn't (that might be wrong). Given you c/c the flop, I'd play the rest of the hand the same way, but...

Re: 2/4 Weird Hand with K9
My first question would be, what's he like preflop? If he cold calls a lot, then we can put him on a wider range of A-hi hands. If he's aggressive, then we can discount several of the better A-hi...

Re: seeing is believing....
Against a true maniac (i.e. known to cap flops with air or TP or an overpair) I'm inclined to 3-bet the turn, actually. Doubly so since you've got button padding the pot.
If he caps, I check call...

Re: Taking a Shot at 2/4
You pretty much have to always bet this flop. You have an overcard and a gutshot to the nuts. So, you'd like to see the turn card and betting is better than check calling. You showed strength...

Re: 5/10 river
Kind of random thoughts:
How passive is this guy? In other words, based on your read, were you check folding the turn?
It's hard to think that he wouldn't bet a K on the turn. I think you...

Re: 3-Handed, AJ from SB, I Took a Strange Line
I don't ever cap this preflop, but I wonder if it has merit -- esp. if someone has been playing back at you recently from the BB. Note that if you expect that you're ahead on the flop, then you must...

Re: 9\'s with river decision
I muck the flop. You're drawing to two outs and a backdoor draw a lot of the time. Also, spiking a 9 could be really bad news, as KQ is soldly in the opponent's range. 14:1 isn't nearly enough.

Re: 3/6 - A7o 4 handed. Fold 2nd pair on the turn?
Yeah, the actual turn card was the Q of clubs, and I thought that was an instamuck, which is what I did. I thought it might have been more interesting if the turn didn't put the 3-flush up there.

Re: 3/6 - KK vs. AXX board. How\'s my plan?
[ QUOTE ]
He can't out draw you with runner-runner two pair.

True. I was being dumb.

I would just call-call-call and it wouldn't take much from BT to get me out.

Re: 3/6 - KK vs. AXX board. How\'s my plan?
My original thought (and my thought in the moment) is that I hated calling because there was a 3rd guy in the hand. But, if he doesn't have an A or a 9 or a flush draw, that plan kinda sucks because...

Re: 3/6 6m - Am I suuposed to fold this?
Jeez, dude, I think I know where SSHE is. I didn't post it there because there's no useful strategic content in the hand.
Preflop is trivially and mathematically easy, no matter what you say. ...

Re: 3/6 6m - Am I suuposed to fold this?
Doh, I double counted the raises. I'm getting 10:2. Which is still an easy call. Again, I'm only 7.5:1 to hit my set, and making up 2.5 small bets will usually be cake when you hit.

I don't necessarily fold on the turn but when it goes
Bet call raise to you, just fold.
And fold preflop, seriously. Wow....

Re: OESD from SB
Yeah, esp. with the flush draw out there, I don't think it's so hot. Even if the flop is a rainbow, I still would rather keep MP and BB in there, if possible.
Now, if the flop were Q93 and I...
