Re: thoughts on 10nl through 100nl

From my experiences (I've played all levels quite a bit)-

$10 NL - plans more or less the same as $2 NL. Pure ABC, no bluffing (other than c-bets), and value betting will win the money in all...

Re: Will poker ever become a coin flip?

I agree with everyone else when I say the answer to OP's question is no.

One point that no one touched on - poker can't ever become a coin flip - if everyone had the same exact skill level and...

Re: Short Stack Strategy

I play short sometimes - I've tried a few different "systems" for shortstacking - Ed Miller's stragety in GSIH is probably one of the easiest to learn and it does work/another stragety I've used is...

Re: Keeping your sanity as an NLHE player

Nice post - thanks for writing this up. An excellent overview of the various games available and how they individually benefit a poker player in terms of skill development. If I were you, I'd...

Re: Set of QQ - got myself into a bad spot.....

Agree with the other posters - bet more on flop and turn. No guarantee at all he's got a jack here - a higher set is unlikely as AA-KK would probably re-pop you before the flop.

As played, I...

Re: NL Tips for Limit Players

Also, draws are oftentimes played differently in NL than in limit - your expressed odds won't be nearly as good as they are in limit, and depending on how tough the game is, your implied odds may or...

Re: First hand at the table....

Def bet out here - there's no gurantee at all that he has an ace - that said, if he raises you, you can probably go ahead and muck (although he could be raising with a draw for a free card, it's too...

Re: 50NL- Isolation correct ?

Nah, don't like it. AQo isn't good enough to shove into a 3-bet (and called) pot. Tons of people make min or near-min 3-bets with AA and KK because they think they can "suck" you in.

I probably...

Re: k10 i\'ve made a hand now how do i get paid?

Obv you can slowplay, but the problem is with only one other person in the pot with you, chances are you aren't going to make much money on the hand.

You can flop the immortal nuts, but if your...

Not to mention the fact that there are far fewer good cash players than tournament players. The problem is, as blinds and antes get large later in tournaments, even the biggest donk can play...

Re: What onlinegame equal to 1-2live

1-2 online is MUCH tougher than 1-2 live. I'd say it depends on when you're playing live - it can range from say $25 NL online (if not even lower if you really luck out on your table) on a drunken...

Re: Microlimit Pokerstars = Rocky?

I tried this out for awhile - it works, trust me. Even at $200 NL I had all sorts of people calling my big raises with Q9s and trying to limp RR AI with pocket 5's and stuff like that. You will...

Re: 6-max Ring: 3-betting Range?

Probably not a good forum for this question - 3 betting light is not a beginner's concept, nor should beginners playing at low stakes (say $25 NL or lower) focus on it - they just don't have enough...

Re: 25NL: Reraised with JJ and facing push

I'm not sure how much metagame there is at $25 NL...

Just fold your JJ and be thankful he didn't flat call your 3-bet and then witness a low rag flop - you would probably have been stacked.

Re: 25NL: TP2K Facing PSB on River

Raise the flop.

As played, I would have a hard time folding this - if you check the turn in this spot you really have to call the river - this could easily be a smaller ace or a bluff - his bet...

Shove the flop. You would have been called my the set, so you were going to get felted no matter what.

Re: 50nl: how do I get away from overpairs....

Getting away from overpairs is one of the toughest things to learn how to do when you're developing your TAG game IMO.

In this hand, I actually advocate using your position and sticking in a raise...

Re: NL50 - QQ facing huge overbet on flop

Re: $10NL, help me not suck

Like the others said, your hand should find the muck PF.

In theory, you could resteal PF, but I think that's too cute for $10 NL unless you're sure Villian is semi-competent and capable of laying...
