Given the reraise all-in by a fairly tight preflop villain, should this be a fold? I had been raising the last couple of hands due to getting a good run of cards so considered they might have got tired of it.
For preflop hands like TT/JJ in position with a raiser and caller, is the reraise a reasonable line or is it better to see the flop cheap and go from there? 3-bet with JJ is standard, as is the fold to a push. If he's pushing with less than QQ here, wait for a better spot and stack him with your aces. But he's probably not, since he's "fairly tight".

Even though he's a shorty, since he's pretty tight and he is raising from UTG I fold.

If a "fairly tight" player raises 4xBB UTG it smells like AA,KK,QQ,AKs,(AQs) or 72o for shania
You got him covered, so I'd say he has a made hand like a high pocket pair (KK or QQ), but AKs at least. Even against AKs JJ looks kinda weak (just 58% to win it though). I'd not call with JJ, unless I am absolutely sure he has AK. |

I'm not sure how much metagame there is at $25 NL...
Just fold your JJ and be thankful he didn't flat call your 3-bet and then witness a low rag flop - you would probably have been stacked. |

Well, I wouldn't count on metagame estimations pre-flop when holding JJ. There are better spots to pick in order to find out whether the opponent is "metagaming" or not.

3-bet with JJ is standard [/ QUOTE ] I often call PF with JJ IP...I have a decent idea of villain's range and the flop gives me more info than it gives the PFR. Plus, in the 3-bet pot I can lose some of my positional advantage. is this wrong? Anyone with a good explanation? |

Standard line is to fold, but if you have history then it becomes read dependant. Given your history I'd lean towards a call, but its really up to you...
