A ramble and a digest of sorts from uNL

I found this post by Munkey very helpful (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=7843750&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1&nt=2)

I'm in the midst of taking a shot at NL100 myself and have...

Combo draw played strong on the flop, faces raise by probable set

Newbie taking a shot at NL$100; this is my first post after a brief stint in uNL.

This hand occurred during my first 30 hands at the table. Villain had limped in a few times, never raised pf,...

Re: I don\'t get it

Um, so far as I know, Stars only lets you buy in for 100 bbs. So that would make all relevant stacks in this hand . . . decidedly not half buy-ins.

Whoops.

Ah, it's a wrap. Sorry, I read it as an OESD. Thanks for the correction. Shove. (By implied odds, I meant the pot odds after villain calls all-in. Is that an incorrect use of the term?)

But...

Re: Flop decision from button (vs. shorter stacks)

I wouldn't take anything in this forum personally. It's probably not meant that way. Omaha players are just cranky. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Flop decision from button (vs. shorter stacks)

If his equity is around 35% and he clearly has no fold equity here, how is this a shove when he could call with proper implied odds and see if a safe card hits on the turn? Or do you think his...

Re: Flop decision from button (vs. shorter stacks)

I put BB solidly on a set or two pair, UTG?, you with 13 outs--2-4, 6, 8, J, Q, and A of /images/graemlins/spade.gif (8 outs to a flush), and J /images/graemlins/heart.gif, J...

Re: AA preflop Raiser, Hero?

See my post above. On a call, you have at most 1.4:1 implied odds and are a 2.2:1 dog. On a shove, you have zero implied odds because you have NOTHING behind and therefore nothing more to win.

Re: AA preflop Raiser, Hero?

This is an easy fold made moreso by the fact that you are shortstacked. You have 8 outs and practically nothing behind, so you are getting, what, 1.4:1 max implied odds on your 2.2:1 dog. Dump it....

Re: An interesting situation I encountered today

A few other factors to consider..

Taking the example of 777x on a 799 board vs TTTx on a TQQ board:

1) Fewer overcards can come to the Ts than the 7s, so fewer boats can be made that are higher...

Re: $25: Low PP vs active opponent

I was iffy about calling the turn, and I like this analysis to explain my gut feeling a bit. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I really don't think the implied odds support a turn call given that when you...

Re: Need help with this PLO50 hand

You don't need any help here. You just need to play this hand exactly the same way 100 times, and you'll come out a big winner.

Re: NL 25 - Tough river spot

He beats you w/TT or AKd/AJd. Can't see him raising anything else UTG. Can't really see him with TT, either, given no 3-bet on the flop or turn. And I can't see him betting the flop with KJ. I...

aiming for pot control w AA, facing all-in on the river anyway

First time posting in this forum, please don't take it easy on me. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Up against one LAG and one very LAG, but neither is a maniac postflop. BB is 38/23/2.6 over 40...

Re: TPTK + NutFD call flop easiest push ever?

I don't think it's quite a push here, as the stacks are still pretty deep. Given the still smallish nature of the pot and without a read, I think there's a good chance you're not getting called by...

Re: probably standard..

How is a raise to $8 into a $4 pot, as two posters have suggested, profitable? If you're done if you get called or raised, you'd have to induce a fold 2/3 of the time to break even, no? Do we...

I want to point out something that no one else seems to be commenting on. You say that you spent your effort in this hand trying to protect your hand, but in fact you never succeeded in doing so. ...

Re: Count my mistakes please

PF is fine.

Flop is an easy raise. You have the nut flush draw against 4 players. The only hand you are worried about given the action is KK from the UTG+1, but he could have been 3-betting AA,...
