Go with Google SketchUp. Actually spend 15 minutes watching the tutorial videos and you'll pick it up quick. The 3D aspect makes it much better than what you can get away with in Visio.

I agree completely. However, for me at least, I was able to get beyond the poor writing and still enjoy the book. I think it was the premise that caught me and kept me entertained.
