Re: ME FLOP PAIR ME NO FOLD SPEW

[ QUOTE ]
Villain... makes ...mistakes like coldcalling or limping in late position.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree with those who say fold the turn. To put it plainly, guys who cold call a lot and open...

Re: 99, draw heavy board

Weird spot, but I'd three bet the flop. Not to protect the hand, because nobody's folding, but I think it will give you a much better idea of where you stand headed into the expensive streets. Also,...

Re: 3-bet the Turn with KK on a draw heavy board.

I understand the rationale behind waiting until the turn to raise, but you can't know for sure if they will bet into you again.

Re: The Doug Show

Tempting, but I check. 9 isn't the best card in the world. If the board paired or a low card came I'd fire again.

Re: QQ for 3 bets

[ QUOTE ]
I swear, my first thought on the flop was check and fold - my second instinct was, 'you pansy, get some bets out there'.

Re: curiosity and self discipline

Today I folded a hand and found at afterwards that I was the winner if I had called down. At first I was annoyed, then I realized that I couldn't remember the last time that happened, and that it the...

Re: downswing

You've gotta step away, figure out what went wrong, and realize there are no easy fixes. Gotta claw your way back.

Re: Turn decision, action pot

[ QUOTE ]
These guys tend to be a bit passive. Therefore, you are almost always behind. You can't protect yout hand by betting if you are ahead. This one doesn't seem close.

Re: 1-for-4?

[ QUOTE ]
Five to the flop for four bets and I have A8o.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, but your original plan was 4 to the flop for 3 bets each with A-8o, and that's not so great either.

Re: Bet-bet-bet. Oops. Eh, threebet.

I understand the thinking behind the river three bet, because anything other than a 9 or 7 is folding. Having said that, I must say, you sprayed a LOT of chips on a hand I would have mucked preflop,...

Re: Blind Steal vs. a calling station

Is this the type of calling station who peels flops but gives up on turns? Does he ever give up on the river?

I bet the turn with the double gutter, thinking that maybe even a 5 or 6 on the river...

Re: It\'s Another Tequila Sunrise

I call, but I showdown too much.

Having said that, it's kind of a crazy flop to donk with only a draw, since the flop probably hit you nicely. If he flopped a flush he could donk it.

Re: second pair, board begs for call

I think your line is fine. Check-raising the turn is too much, because you must call a raise. The only other option would be to donk the turn, but you still have to call a raise, and you take the...

against lags that cannot help themselves from bluffcheckraising you need to bet the turn here.

I would have played the hand exactly the same way, but it sure doesn't feel good. I guess that is what happens when you play a baby pair out of position.

The flop cr is the only play if you think...

Re: Another basic

[ QUOTE ]
Could you please elaborate why you like a 3-bet here. To gain fold equity on the turn?

He anticipates that you're calling down, so he's going to play nearly perfectly against you if you do. So to thwart this, you have to do something different than call down.

Getting knocked around & a turn donk

Playing 50-100 6 max and this one guy is getting me good. Initially he had a few suckouts and won with hands that I had dominated, but it's tilted me a little bit and now he's just flat outplaying...
