Re: Letter from a poker site employee

Bluffdude

"Interested in" doesn't cut it, and "online gambling" might include poker as a very low priority, or not. Where are the sites? When are the sites? "We are considering" is a non-starter...

Napster, Denial and Federalism

Napster wasn't illegal per se. However, it did enable bad little boys and girls to violate copyrights and acquire music libraries without paying for them. It was the old "something for nothing" scam...

Re: So US Bank randomly decides to try and [censored] me.

US banks habitually check on expenditures using US issued credit cards when the expenditures occur overseas and hit an automatic flag in the authorization program. I don't know what all the flags...

Re: No, I am saying the argument fails because it confuses people

One issue with the skill argument is that skill in NLE, for example, is relative - even, maybe especially, over the long run. That only stops being true at the very highest levels of the game and...

Re: Myths about UIGEA from \"semi-pro\"

Somewhat off-topic, but perhaps thought provoking.

Wine:

There are two broad categories, imported and domestic. Imported first have to cross the border between the US and the rest of the...

Re: International Law -> Internet Gambling -> UIGEA

Perhaps you should consider, somewhere in your education and career, if not now, the broad relevance of international law and conflicts between said law and US principles and laws. Where, when and...

Re: is this unethical??

Josem.

Wake up. Bluffing, slow playing a strong hand etc. are all integral parts of the game and require no conversation or outright lying with intent. What part of that basic principle are you...

Re: Update from PPA

The PPA: I am reminded of the very old joke about the flea crawling up the elephant's leg with rape on its mind.

Two points out many.

1. Why go after an exemption for Internet poker as a game...

Re: Taxes! MUST one File as a Professional if they Fit the Bill?

Please. Get professional advice. Individual circumstances differ, so what one CPA tells one player might not apply to anyone else.

Re: NETeller rolls over, gives all your information to the IRS

Mostly speculation here, to which I am now adding mine:

1. The DoJ can request whatever it damn well pleases.

2. Neteller can submit whatever it damn well pleases. Then the pissing contest...

Re: Was anyone here named a state \"director\" for the PPA?

I have wondered on occasion why the PPA chose the slogan it did: "Keep Poker Legal." One, this is not specific to Internet poker and two, B&M poker is the only currently legal form of the game (in...

Re: How about Cardplayer getting into the processing business ??

Three points:

1. There are a small, finite number of poker sites and payment transfer methods. Tracking, prohibiting and/or taking action against them will not be a problem for the DOJ, US...

In addition to what has already been stated, be patient and enjoy the clown show. Or find another game. Aggravation is just wasted energy.

Re: is this unethical??
