Re: 45 man turbo - playing AQ pre flop with a big-ish stack

I agree with most. You have an M of about 6.5 so you should be pushing with alot of hands here. You are fortunate to pick up a hand that is well above average so I would push and not be worried...

Re: AQs late in FTP $10/45

The only apprehension I have here is that sometimes limps from stacks under 10 BBs are done with monsters in order to induce a raise. But I think that's just a small part of...

Re: QJs 24$/412players/3.5k guaranteed

I would agree. I would push the turn at this point.

You might also think of raising behind those limpers to $400 or something PF. No one seems to be showing any strength and you may be able to...

Re: $60 Live Tourney (Multi-Layered Decision)

Thanks for the advice. I did shove and he did have AQ. He hit a wheel and I was out but I felt I made the right move. Thanks again!

$60 Live Tourney (Multi-Layered Decision)

I'm playing in a $60 Live tourney in Vegas. There were 28 entrants, tourney pays top 5.

There are 19 players left and I am 3rd on my table in chips and 5th overall. As always, the blinds move...

Poker Tracker

Hey guys,

I just installed poker tracker. First of all...what an awesome tool. I feel like an idiot for not using it until now.

Anyways, I only have about 600 hands worth of data (just got...

Re: 200 NL, KK Millions of callers

This is a pretty standard situation that comes up frequently and it's often the difference between a winning session or a losing one.

IMO, the pf bet was fine. You ended up with 4 callers and...

Re: New to LHE

Hey guys...thanks for the great thoughts.

Interesting to hear most of you say that LHE is worse than NLHE for swings. I would have never thought that.

The reason I have switched to LHE is that...

Re: New to LHE

Thanks for the reply.

I'm a little confused. On the one hand, you say that 30% is too high and on the other hand, you say play any suited connector, pair and suited ace. Keep in mind that I am...

New to LHE

Hello.

I am just looking for some general advice. I have been playing poker for over 2 years. I mostly play in small home games and online. However, until recently, I have primarily played NLHE...

I wouldn't open fold on the button w/ Ax. I think I am almost always pushing with Ax on the button with...

Re: At which point do you stop raising hands that can\'tstand a re-raise?

I assume you are rasing 3x BB...is that correct?

If so, shall we assume that blinds are 1K/2K w/ 200 ante. Assuming you have 28K in chips (ie. 14 BB), you will be broke in 5.6 orbits if you don't...

Re: Strategy question - bubble bustout hand on Party $11s MTT last night

Yah...I agree with most. I think you played it very well. You got your money in as a 2-1 fav and that's about as good as it gets. The vilain in this case makes a nice play too as he knows (around...

Re: KQo on the Button, short-stacked after several limpers. Auto-push?

Are you still in the rebuy period? If so, it's an auto-push as you only have 11BB but if it's out of the rebuy, I would prefer to make sure I am heads up before I push. Often, UTG limps are big...

Re: Playing Trips Passively

I don't mind the check on the flop. Chances are you are way ahead. I don't know if I would just call the turn though. I would put in a good raise and go from there. At that point, there's about...

Re: Hand 4, JJ UTG

I don't know that you played it that poorly.

I would have been a bit suspicious when he flat called that flop though. It's a failry uncoordinated board so it's unlikely he called with a drawing...

Re: Facing a Massive Overbet

I think the line is fine...You've flopped TPTK, you've checked to the PF raiser hoping he will CB so you can get more money in the pot. Now that he has overbet the pot, you have to call. If he...

Re: WPT Paris Final Table Hand

The mistake IMO is probably not pushing pf. It seems a bit silly to bet 70K (about 1/3 of stack) and then fold. If I was gonna play this hand, I would just push it all-in.

Re: Another sat question - stars 3r

I agree, I would fold. If you are able to pick your spots and risk as little chips as possible for a couple of orbits, you're likely ITM.

Great job making to the final 3...nice payday!

Re: Bottom set gets ugly, what\'s my line?

I liked your play all the way until the turn. IMO, it's unlikely he has the flush. He probably has AQ or 2 pair and once you check the turn, he senses weakness and bets pot so you can fold your...

Re: Party 109, simple preflop question

Well...if table is tight, I like to raise then. If you get a few callers, you are probably going to need a set but you know that.

I think the stacks are deep enough if the table is loose though. ...

Re: Party 109, simple preflop question

Hmmm...not enough info about table style for me to answer as best I can. If the table is pretty tight (ie. 2-3 players to the flop), I like a raise 3xBB or so to see if you can take it down or at...
