Re: Hand 4, JJ UTG
Most likely a set but AK would have been reasonable guess in a 20.00 tourney.

Re: Hand 4, JJ UTG
I had put button on TPTK / maybe AK / or an overpair to the board and I am Ok if button shows QQ+. I am not Ok with the results, and felt a little silly falling headfirst into the trap. Am I showing my inexperience by not getting away from this on the turn?
Results in white below: Hero has Jh Jd (one pair, jacks). Button has 2s 2h (three of a kind, twos). Outcome: Button wins t1220. Still learning. Thanks... |

Re: Hand 4, JJ UTG
I don't know that you played it that poorly.
I would have been a bit suspicious when he flat called that flop though. It's a failry uncoordinated board so it's unlikely he called with a drawing hand. If he had a hand like A8 or 99, etc. he would have probably raised on the flop to see if it was good. With him just calling, I would start thinking he may be trapping but it's a tough hand to get away from. I don't think it's "obvious" what he has but this early in the tourney, I like to slow down on the turn and see if I can get to the river and showdown as cheap as possible. |
