Re: SSHE in AC?

The concepts apply fairly well to limits at the pink chip and below. Never played higher so can't speak to it. Each individual game is different though. Sometimes a 4/8 game has 7 players preflop...

Poker Vacation. Where and when would you go?

One of these days I will have a couple of weeks off and was planning on doing a poker vacation. Probably in late December. I was thinking Vegas of course but I don't know if that would be the best...

Re: Out-of-College Lazy Fidelity Portfolio

This is roughly the same portfolio recommended by Kiplinger Personal Finance Magazine for passive (index) investing. Do a search on their site or buy their magazine to find out more info. You may...

Re: Caesars AC today

Does anyone know what the Caesar's low limit holdem games are like? Specifically 3/6-6/12?

Top pair on drawy board. What went wrong? What would you do?

.25/.50 home game. $25 buyin. 6 players. Been playing all night so I have some decent info on the players. Typical for a home game. Loose preflop calls and plenty of gambling.

Hero: $60. ...

Re: Hand Quiz: Call or Fold?

Can you elaborate on the "really bad?" Is betting for information no good? If he had come over the top why would I risk my remaining stack early in the tournament on top pair. Even with a good kicker.

Re: Hand Quiz: Call or Fold?

I like this line Sherman. Thanks for the input. I am either way ahead or way behind. No reason to always worry that someone will catch there 2 outs from the deck.

I partly bet the flop here to...

Re: Hand Quiz: Call or Fold?

Thanks Nogatsira,

I like your last comment. The oop preflop raise really made me believe he had a strong hand like a pair as this is what I find in online play. To be honest I didn't even think KJ...

Re: Hand Quiz: Call or Fold?

In hindsight it is a stupid value bet. Maybe a habit from limit holdem. But after the guy checks twice shouldn't I think my hand is good?

After two checks I had him on QQ. It was after the all in...

25/50 Blinds

MP raises 175. Hero calls in cutoff with A /images/graemlins/heart.gif K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
SB raises to 450. MP player folds Hero calls.
No real read on SB. Seems a...

Re: This makes me want to choke a dude

Choke him. Not at all. I would thank him. I've seen this type of play several times. Once some guy flopped a set and didn't reraise me with my TPTK Q. Another time a guy flopped a straight. Yes I...

Re: Simple hand. 40/80 Live

There's no reason not to bet the turn. You have at least 11 outs. Even if you are raised you still have the correct odds to call. Another A might fold increasing your chances if an A hits the river....

Re: Non-cliched, funny B&M lines you\'ve heard

4/8 trop.

Average Joe draws to flush on river. Fat NJ mobster looking guy gets up in disgust on what appeared to have been a flopped straight. Average Joe asks, "What did you have? A straight."...

Re: Please Explain the Bet/Fold

A live 3/6 game tends to be passive. What is your read on this player? Against an aggressive player you haven't really learned anything when you bet in this situation as he will raise regardless. A...

Re: QQ vs raiser

you're not deep enough to play this way preflop. when he makes it $5 more you have to decide right then what your plan for the flop is. you can't call for set value, so you're either...

In relation to what? Are you levelling us?

[/ QUOTE ]

After his raise preflop there was $13. I had $35 left. It is silly to put $35 to win $13 on what is likely a coin flip.

I...

I do not understand the reasoning behind the comments posted here. The analysts do not like that I bet nearly 3/4 of my stack and eventually folded. In a tournament I could see how this would be a...

QQ vs raiser

This is an interesting hand that I played the other night.

.25/.50 NL 10 handed. $20 buy-in.

Hero has ~$38.
Villain has ~$60.

UTG limps. UTG+1 makes it $1 to go.
Hero in MP2 finds...

Re: Important No Limit Holdem Tourney Question

With the blinds, the raiser and the other caller there is 1500 in the pot. You are getting 2.5-1. A call of 600 would put 2100 in the pot. With this much in the pot it is possible that the big blind...

Re: Question about beating good players vs. cannot beat bad players

Agreed. I certainly do not think it is true.

My question was more general however. Does anyone have a response to my actual questions?

Question about beating good players vs. cannot beat bad players

Often there are posts on this forum indicating that if one were to move up limits they would win more. It usually follows some type of harangue about too many players staying in or calling to the...

Re: Live 2/4 & 3/6: Let\'s hear it

In addition I would recommend the Miller, Sklansky, Malmuth SSHE book. The preflop recommendations in this book are excellent and it will answer many of your questions. Keep in mind that in a...
