Continue the passive line and check. Hope the river improves his hand or that the check induces a bluff.

I don't understand how you can be so certain your hand is still good againt the button.
The preflop raise didn't do what it was supposed to do and the Hero missed the flop. If MP decides to call...

Re: Simple AQ hand
It looks like the villian has a pocket pair (JJ, TT) that didn't set. I check because of the king on the turn.

Re: 99 first hand
I would fold unless I have a read that the villian would do this with something like A8.

Re: Fun with 1 gap SC
Seems like your plan worked-- I usually only raise with 6 high or better from UTG though. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Going broke with 1 pair
I'd go with a flop three-bet, call a push. Then I would beat my head against the padded walls when the villian turns over Q7d.

It's these sorts of moments that make poker worth playing even though normally is so boring.
The button is solid, but does he seem to be putting you on a hands, or just playing his own hand?

Re: PP $25NL Top Set Hand - Instacall?
Hero doesn't have top set, since there's a jack on the board.
Why would the villian raise it so much with the nuts? He could be protecting a medium strength + draw hand. I don't think he has 98...

Re: Gosh darn river
Turn: Why not bet the rag? Pot-control on a draw heavy board? It's about losing control of the pot if the club hits.
I call and let him turn over the A/images/graemlins/club.gif.

Re: 100nl set, your thoughts?
The hero is only behind two hands (TT, 66). There are several more hands AA-JJ, AKs that could play this way. That range puts the Hero ahead 5 out of 7 possible hands. Enough of an edge for a push.
