Downswings - how bad can they be ?
Hi,
I'm wondering how bad downswings can actually be. I don't think I changed style in playing, I'm playing .50/1$ to 1/2$ limit hold'em, and went down a good 150$ in the last two weeks.
Is...

How to calculate outs. Example: TT vs. KQs
I'm just thinking about how to calculate outs.
Lets have an example: TT vs. KQs
That's a 53.69% vs. 46.31% chance for the TT to win.
Well, the reason to count outs is, that one can't do...

I read in various starting hand charts that QQ is a cap/cap hand.
If I raise with QQ and get reraised behing, what could the reraiser have ? only another cap hand ? that'd be either

AA vs KK vs QQ vs AKs vs JJ
hi,
i think it's that most people agree that the best hand is AA, followed by KK, QQ, AKs, JJ
now i would like to know is there a way to (mathematically even?) quantify how much better AA is...

Re: full ring limit handstrength list
is the HPFAP list to view somewhere ?
so the lists you mention are not based on any mathematical information, but rather view from how it was for 'X' examples recorded by pokertracker ?

Re: full ring limit handstrength list
Point is to find a mathematical approach to value preflop hands.
As I wrote before, to make it dependend on the number of players in to see the flop, one could use VPIP to get a probability for...

full ring limit handstrength list
just some more math i did
first number: the 'absolute' hand value, setting AA to 1.000 and comparing all others to AAs strength.
second number: percentage of win against 9 randomly distributed...

It's not really fair to compair online hands to Sklansky's groupings (even though personally I have never been a big fan of the exact ranking order either).
In Sklansky games...

Re: Limit Holdem, what to do?
I'm actually still at a point even before that.
I'm trying to find/setup a hand-rank-list for all possible hands. What are the top 5% hands ? And what the top 15% hands ? And why are they what they...

well, i'm not all that sure that there's no magic formula, i guess there is, and that it's just heavily complicated and complex.
after some sleep and some more thinking i thought up this:
still...

Re: Limit Holdem, what to do?
some more math:
taken the example KQs the probability distribution to win looks like follows:
hu, vs 2, vs 3 ... vs 9 people
63.5 47.0 37.8 31.9 27.7 24.5 21.9 19.8 18.0
now if i knew (or...

allright, i did some things with numbers and had a look at the win-probabilities for heads-up and then the sum of
heads-up plus the (unlikely) probability of against 9 hands.
heads up only...
