Re: Blind battle on 4-flush board

I don't mean to hijack, but just wondering... If the 2BB it costs to get the info is $200 rather than $0.10, is it still worth it?

On the one hand 2BB is 2BB, even if it's micro money. On the...

Re: JJ - scary turn bet

I don't think you can raise for value here with the chance you are behind and all the redraws out there. And a raise doesn't clean up that much (maybe a gutshot, ace that would pair).

I think...

Re: is raising to protect good or bad with top set?

I think you need to raise the flop here if you want to raise the turn. And we really really want to raise a non-scary turn.

I find that this line always scares the fish:
- raise pre-flop
-...

MP2 shows A2o. My 8 kicker is good and I rake the pot.

Thanks, guys.

Re: Health Insurance For A Poker Player

I'm an independent web developer and get my insurance through "Golden Rule". It could be a decent alternatively if you wanted a little bit more. I pay about $100 per month, have a $2500 deductable,...

Re: A8s in Family Pot from SB

Good point on the chop outs.

And as a side note, I'm reading the updated FAQ and realize that I posted 3 hands today which is a bit of a no-no. I'll be commenting for the next few.

Also,...

Reads would be nice.

I'd rather c/r the inevitable c-bet on this flop than lead out. When it exploads I hang on and see what the turn brings. Lots of scare cards out there.

A8s in Family Pot from SB

Here's a hand I'm flustered by. MP2 is 26/12 after 65 hands. Don't remember any other reads.

Re: Sooted! in the SB

Thanks for replies.

BTW, a bit of those 2k hands were short handed. 6 players, 3 players, heads up. I don't know how to figure it out in Poker Tracker, but that probably affects the numbers.

Re: Slow down with second set?

>im capping turn and calling river if he leads again.

I like that line. I mean if he bets the river, he wasn't on a flush draw. So he's likely got trips... so he's likely got the KK's (pre-flop...

Re: open-raising with ace-little suited (sorry for preflop question)..

I'm actually more inclined to raise this earlier rather than later. It sounds crazy, but you do get some Ax's bigger than yours to fold, which is nice.

And I always use this reasoning: "When I...

Sooted! in the SB

After about 1000 hands each of .02/.04 and .05/.10 each, I'm down $4.15 in the small blind (about -.18BB per hand). Even if you exclude blinds, I'm down 17 cents.

My VPIP in the SB is 51. Is this...

Anyone cap on the River? Again, I'm surprised I didn't. Maybe I'm psychic.

Cool. When looking at this hand, I actually thought I had capped and was surprised I didn't. It's good to hear that no one is really advocating slowing down.

Here's the River action. I'll post...

Slow down with second set?

First posting after a long hiatus. I'm playing on PokerStars now because I saw I had $3 left in there. I've managed to bring that up to $11 over 2k hands or so, and I'm very surprised at how hard the...
