I'd probably call down when MP3 wakes up after the turn. I don't like the raise because we don't know if our JJ is still the best hand after MP3 bets the king...

I don't raise second pair versus an unknown on the turn that often. Since you have about proper odds to call with a 5 outer, I just call the turn.

I count 10 outs. 4 Q's, 4 8's, and the 2 J's. Or are you discounting the outs because it could improve villian's hand also?

The 8 outs is a pretty liberal way of counting IMHO

That's why I'm asking. I am never sure how much to discount my outs in these situations. I know that any one of those 10 outs gives me a straight or 3 of a kind, but it could give villian a better hand. I'm just wondering why we are calling it 5 outs. Discounting to half I guess?

The 8s dont give you a straight... I think 5 outs is for the off chance we turn Q and get a split and when we spike a J and someone has the Q.

4+2-1 amIrite?

There is a 7, a 9, and a T on the board; we hold JJ. I'm pretty sure an 8 gives us a straight.
