Re: Live 2-5 NL, small pair
Perhaps. Attempting to isolate the limper will not work in this game. In many situations I raise medium pairs here as well, but there would have been 3 calers here anyway and I would be stuck in...

Live 2-5 NL, small pair
Villain has $400 and I cover. He is pretty loose, can three barrel bluff, and makes some wierd bets. He rarely slows down when he takes the lead. He will raise most pairs pre flop in this spot,...

Re: Flopped Flush
Maybe this hand would have been more interesting had V2 had a full stack as well. I also was not sure how V1 would read my call on the turn, and he commented that he was afraid that I had the nut...

Re: Flopped Flush
I will often lead/CR this flop, but decided to CR the turn with similar action as on the flop and a safe card, but the strange bet by V1 and the min raise made things interesting.
I don't think...

Re: 2/5: Live AK hand at my regular game.
Very good post, but in this hand you forgot about the intial limpers. Had the pot been open raised then you are certainly on target.
In this case, it is a very dangerous way for the SB to play...

Re: checkraise river?
I like a CR bluff attempt if the 9 or 2 paired on the river. Would you really call turn with a bare ten?
Also, what was your river plan if you did not boat?

Re: Quads in a strange situation
Thanks, everyone
I chose to get fancy on this flop sicne the SB and straddler were short on chips; had they had more I would have certainly led or CR the flop given the opportunity. I was aware...

Re: checkraised w aces
Villain just sat down and could be establishing an image of "don't try to take it away on the turn." If villain has AK or KQ he may put hero on a worse king and so this is a value raise.
I...

Re: Quads in a strange situation
I was gonig to CR the flop, but then the other two guys called and I got greedy since I have no idea what they are check calling with.
I thought about betting the turn, but I have the deck...

Re: checkraised w aces
Why wouldn't villain play a hand like AK this way?
Hero opened on button and just called flop, which I don't like. SB may think hero is floating the flop and decides to pick off some bluff money...

Quads in a strange situation
Live 2-5NL

Re: Final Table Strategy with big blinds
With 7 left table was real tight. One guy on my right who had 50k was a smart, everyone else was just trying to survive. I ended up rinning into KK and QQ from the tightest player at the table...

Re: Final Table Strategy with big blinds
This was not a big tourney. 7th paid out just under 200, but 3rd was a little less than 400. Then it jumped to 800 and 1400.
I was thinking of best way to win.

Final Table Strategy with big blinds
I was at a final table recently and with 7 people to go I had 170k out of a total 450k or so. Blinds were 5k and 10k, and this particular tourney had no ante. The next closest player had 65k, and...

Thanks, It felt really bad put I couldn't help myself. I really did think he had a flush draw or a hand like AJ. I didn't think he was trapping me on that flop.
