Re: 4567 in position - linecheck
I think you played this fine. I'm never ever laying it down PF. I just add the fact that you're suited specifically to the 7 adds value to the hand. With this action, it doesn't really matter, but...

Re: How much to bet? (PLO100)
I agree with that, but they don't help against flush draw.
Here's my current strategy (as a rule): I raise QQ with good flush draw here or a monster draw if I have position. I definitely push top...

Re: PLO200 - tricky turn spot
I agree fully. QQ-AA have been consistently profitable for me not worrying at all about side-cards. I am surprized that you have JJ and TT in such good shape. FR, I had JJ at -.01 ptbb for a short...

Re: PLO200 - tricky turn spot
Vs. a tricky player, particularly one whom you're not really targetting, I'd take the free card.
I think he could easily have the wrap here, although lots of other possibilities certainly.

How much to bet? (PLO100)
I have QQ63 UTG and limp (stack $143).
5 to the flop, which comes Qc7c4h. A pretty aggro player in BB fires pot, and I call (ok, one can raise here, but I'm liking the call usually--keeps more...

Re: plo100 - playing blockers badly?
I make that play a fair amount in a short-handed pot FR. But I give up on that turn. I think it's probably worth continuing if you pick up a heart, maybe also a Q, although one very logical call hand...

Re: VB with Quads?
Potting would put it at what, like 1400? I guess with rebuys they still could call. I'd go either as low as humanly possible (the 700) or else full pot. But full pot does seem risky at folding them...

Re: VB with Quads?
I think I'd try somewhere around 700 here. Keeping Bob in seems less relevant that either getting a raise (which I don't exclude in this kind of thing) out of napoleon or a call out of both.

HU structures
I wondered if anyone had tried a lot of HU matches at 2 with 2 or more tables. I've just been sticking with one match at a time but wonder if this is optimal in terms of profitability.
I drew up...

Re: tough spot (5/10)
I don't see how you get a turn pot of 250 with 75 on the flop.
Anyhow, I'd always half-pot the turn here.
I really think the river is a good check-call in a HU pot at this level--at which I...

They call with huge ranges, actually.
I think he has some straight here almost always with set and 2 pair being somewhere in there a very small percentage of the time. I think he'd probably...

Re: 2 hands (live 1/2/5)
I'm going to try a rough EV calculation on the AAds hand. I'm just going to assume he has Q9 here, as I think he will almost always. And please feel free to critique any assumptions I make here.

Re: 2 hands (live 1/2/5)
Raising doesn't by any means nearly always mean aces, and I've been raising enough that it's also clear for me. I've probably been raising well over 10%. I rather think more than half the hands I've...

2 hands (live 1/2/5)
Hand 1:
I have AhAd8d2h OTB with $850 or so and raise to $30. 5 callers. Flop 8hTdJh. Player to my right (he has me covered) bets $160.
I laid this down but was very uncertain after the hand....

Re: top set with position (theory)
lol, well, you definitely can if you're playing against idiots or else are raising a very large range. I really think the latter is the only viable alternative to the flat call method.
If that's...

Re: top set with position (theory)
Now let's make the board drawier still, but still rainbow.
First, one thing about most of these drawy boards is that you're looking at mid-range cards, and hence sets less frequently than on...

Re: top set with position (theory)
I'm first going to assume rational opponents. If they can't lay down a 9-outer or KK, then a raise is definitely the best play here (in my live game, I think this actually may apply to some).

top set with position (theory)
This is something I keep coming back to, and here are my conclusions up to now for FR: OOP, try to get it all-in on the flop. With position, if things are looking HU-ish, just call a real bet (>2/3...

Re: more 1/2/5
Just adding to iggy's accurate remarks: This is all relative to the flop. The important thing is to count your nut straight outs in big pots--i.e., whether you're on the top side of the draw. 4567 is...

Re: another useless hypo
I think that is very interesting for HU play--and also other situations where you can expect quite a few HU or 3-way pots.
However, I don't think that means you shouldn't raise them. Imo, they're...

Re: 200PS: When one hand beats you
Quite a few. I think it depends somewhat on propensities to raise wraps UTG, and he's got to be suited.
My real problem with the check-fold line is that I think you're inviting a bluff...

Re: 200PS: When one hand beats you
I really wish you had bet that flop, but this may have paid off.
I think you can either check-call the river or (I think I prefer this line) make a value-bet of about $60. If you get raised, I...
