Re: WV Cross-Lanes Table Games

Results to be officially announced today August 21, 2007. This will start a 48 hour deadline for a request for recount at the opponents expense. So there is some chance that the results will become...

Re: Why no Omaha8 in Indiana?

Harrah's Indiana did spread O8 at tourney time and even 1/2 PLO, but usually the only Omaha is 5/10/25 kamikaze PLO. Bankroll + discipline = good time. Wish I had that : )

Re: WV Cross-Lanes Table Games

Watching this carefully as this would be the closest legal poker room to me. 2+2 came up first on google when I searched "Cross Lanes" poker. Thanks for the timely news.

Re: What makes his game \"special\"?

Has anybody determined what Chip's standard open raises are? Amounts of raises were not generally given and are pertinent.
I have a healthy disrespect for opening minraises at Holdem, and they seme...

Re: WSOP pay per view

I will likely do the PPV through the internet again this year. My local provider doesn't seem to carry the cable version. North Carolina USA.

Re: Short vs Deep Stacks

A different explanation, more applicable to rocks than lags, is that you never want to have fewer chips than needed to protect your hand. When you have a set versus a two flush on the board and you...

Re: what can i learn from books that i can\'t learn from 2+2?

What can you learn about most subjects that you can't learn from Google. Usually very little. The advantage of a good book is that it selects the most important information regarding a particular...

Re: Razz Tournament strategy

I noticed at this years WSOP Razz event, the antes are often huge compared to the bring in and complete. At the start the antes are $5, the bring in just $5 and the complete $20. That's got to be a...

Beal no fool

I must object to Schoonmaker calling Andy Beal a fool, particularly in the context of an artical that describes the benefits other than profit a person derives from poker. Beal enjoyed the rare...

Re: PLO8B Tourney - Getting Late

How much did the button raise?
I might not fold this preflop to a minimum raise - I assume that "Button raises, 2 folds," means you did. A feel for the table would let you know if a button raise...

Re: A,2 off suite in Badugi

wouldn't 234, A34 and A24 rainbow have exactly the same drawing odds on the last draw as A23? The only difference is that the non-nut hands made are slightly worse that those made with A23. You'll...

Re: WSOP Omaha / 8 event

And briefly venturing back on topic, I played the $2000 limit Omaha 8/B as my first and only WSOP event so far. I made it about halfway through. I was playing over my bankroll so it was...

Re: WSOP Omaha / 8 event

I played the PLO8 at the Taj on a Friday, maybe the week after Thanksgiving 2006. I signed up while still in a Holdem Tourney and arrived at the table late (cashed in the Holdem). I think they...

Re: .25/.50 hand

Check and judge by size of bet. A rock has you beat, but the likeliest hands you can beat are trip nines and a straight or straight draw. The ideal situation is that villain bets $5, you call and...

Re: Razz starting hands for short handed/final tables

Good question, I'd like some thoughts too. I basically use 865 as my minimum starter, and limp if the 8 is up. I'd certainly think 876 is playable 4 way, and there will be many more opportunites to...

Re: About Jamie Gold...

Perhaps the most truthful "spin" would be to note the extreme pressure of the situation and note similarities and differences in the ways all of the FT players responded to the situation.
