Default .25/.50 hand

Hand was played on Bodog so unfortunately I don't have a hand history. This was my first hand at the table so no reads.

I was dealt q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the BB.

Three people limped, small blind completed and I checked.(2.50 in the pot)

Flop came: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Small blind checks. I bet pot(2.50). Fold, Fold, Villain calls, SB folds.(7.50 in pot)

Turn9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ) j [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet pot(7.50). Villain calls.(22.50 in pot)

River: (9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] j [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero?

Bet-call if you make a small blocking bet of $7 or $8, bet-fold if you choose to make a bigger bet, that's assuming deep-enough stacks, that's all to be worked up here without knowing stack sizes though.

Sorry forgot to include stack sizes. I had 50.00 and villain had me covered.

Check and judge by size of bet. A rock has you beat, but the likeliest hands you can beat are trip nines and a straight or straight draw. The ideal situation is that villain bets $5, you call and take it down. I wouldn't call half pot or more without a pattern of overbets on the part of villain.

Tough spot but its probably best to check this river because someone may be walking the dog. A worse hand probably isn't calling any bet you make. Probably gotta call any river bet and expect to see a better full house often.

I checked the river, he bet the pot and i called. I figured after my check he could be betting any missed straight draw and any 9. His pot bet made me think he was bluffing but he had trip 10's and I lost the pot. Would anyone had folded this river to a pot bet.
