Re: Francisco Liriano is pitching right now

And of course I jinx the whole freaking thing. Bloop single followed by trainers coming out and Liriano's exist.

Francisco Liriano is pitching right now

...and he looks great.

6 up and 6 down so far. I'd be more than a little worried if I was the rest of the american league.

Re: 50NL Q7s river bluff raise

meh, if you think you're good, then yeah, go ahead and call. I don't really like the raise though. I also don't think its unreasonable at all for him to have an ace.

Re: KK river play

Because the river brought four to the straight he'll be bluffing more with busted spades and calling less with hands you beat. I vote for check call.

Re: I just need a standard line

Bukem,
You just have to betbetbetbet becuase they can't ever call!

Re: I just need a standard line

The way we're forced to play this hand leads me to believe that one can make lots of money 3 betting preflop in position with virtually any two cards.

Re: I just need a standard line

Ok, ok, I didn't really intend for this post to be about preflop. How are we playing 88, 99, or JJ here? If we are leading what's the plan if just called? Are we putting more money in the pot? If...

Re: I just need a standard line

Concerning preflop...eff stacks are $300 so I figured I have some nice implied odds when i hit a hand. How big do the stacks need to be before the folders say call? Are you always folding becuase...

Re: I just need a standard line

Sorry for the confusion orange and others, but the turn does NOT bring a flush draw for me, just a flush draw. Also, I am assuming that when you say fold preflop that this is to the 3bet and not...

Re: I just need a standard line

Yeah, I usually find myself check calling as I really dislike checkraising. I feel like this just opens us up to get outplayed on the turn though.
So... what now...
Flop 10 7 2. I check and call...

I just need a standard line

Sorry no converter on this one. I am learning NL from a limit background. I get confused in these spots becuase I don't like any of my options.
This is Party NL200 6 max.
eff stacks are about...

Re: 55 flop spot

I guess this isn't as close to a raise as I initially thought. What if we has 1010, or, if only one of the blinds called. Are you guys raising yet?

Re: AK, AQ, AJ getting me in a lot of trouble (LC)

This is something that I've dealt with plenty in the past when I made the same jump. There are probably times to take just about every line there is.

When they just call on the flop, don't be too...

Re: AK unimproved firing away

I certainly didn't expect anybody fold a six. I did have in mind someone throwing away AK or calling with a worse hand.

Re: OOP PF vs a poster

I probably play pretty similarily. Probably fold q10o, j10o, a9o type hands that i might be raising otherwise.

Re: 3-betting KQ always gets me in trouble

I agree with moneyline about preflop. I'm almost always 3-betting this on the button and out of the small blind but usually calling from the big blind.
I'm happy check calling the turn, but I've...

55 flop spot

I watched my friend play this hand and I was at a loss on what to do on the flop. All options seems slightly appealing to me. Its a 15/30 (6 handed) online game that is juicy where pretty much...

AK unimproved firing away

I thought I played this hand great at the time but now i'm not so sure. Both opponents in this hand are loose and dumb. BB is 53/32 and cold caller is 50/18 over about 100 hands. I didn't have...

Re: 40/80 Reign in Blood

At first I really liked this hand but i thought of something that thwarts your plan. That is, if he has a Jx no spade type hand and a spade hits on the river, he is type of guy to go into check call...

Re: JTo river

Will someone explain why a flop checkraise is good? To me, this seems like a textbook example to bet into the LAG and face the BB who probably has a good chunk of outs against you with two bets. I...

Re: JTs settle a disagreement with DeathDonkey

[ QUOTE ]
I raise the flop. Our equity is excellent in a 4way pot even worst-case when pfr has an overpair (which is less likely than overcards IMO, unless there as an unspecified player read). I...

Re: how bad was this?

sweetjazz,
thanks, and nicely put.

One of things i'm a big advocate of is not thinking I know how some random 10/20 player is going to play their hand. I'm not sure why i did here.

What you...

Re: how bad was this?

The main reason why I did this was becuase I figured he is check raising a king or queen most of time and betting his strong draws or maybe a monster.

Here's maybe a more interesting question: ...

Re: how bad was this?

That of course is what I was telling myself afterwards. At the time i thought there was a good enough chance he was on a draw to get to a showdown cheaply. I'm not conviced its all that terrible...

how bad was this?

Party 10/20 6-max.

UTG I have no stats on but has been a little too loose so far i think. BB is 31/16/1.6

UTG raises, i 3-bet with 77. BB and UTG call.

Flop: KQ8 (2 hearts).
BB bets, UTG...
